This is my story. I started to hunt for TLPD about a week ago, during this time, - I had 3 close encounters with TLPD before finally getting it the 4th time. I have killed about 5-6 Vyragosa during this period. Not a very bad ratio between TLPD and Vyragosa.
Below is my story:
1st encounter:
This is the first time I saw a TLPD. I was new to HB and did not use rarekiller, I was camping near Valkryion for many hours before deciding to activate Tony's profile to circle around the known path. That was in a way a big mistake, as I made the circle and got back to that location, TLPD spawned just few seconds ahead and I thought HB would track and kill it for me, so I didn't do anything - Of course HB just continue flying, ignoring TLPD and someone else killed it. Damn.
2nd encounter:
This time, I did some research and learned the fact that I need to install rarekiller, so back to camping. TLPD spawned just below me. I was bit too high and I did not have snowfall lager. So rarekiller was just following it, seconds before a hunter one shot it from the ground. #FML
3rd encounter:
This is the saddest one. I decided to do the 80s daily to get the snowfall leger. I just woke up from sleep for NPC and was reading my email when the NPCSCAN alarm was triggered. I thought this is my lucky day. I was on a resized windowed mode and when I saw it coming, so I maximized the window to get ready to kill him. You know what happened? WoW crashed!!!! Yes, god damn it.. WOW CRASHED!!! I hate myself so much that I decided to eat all the sliced breads that I could find at the kitchen to release my stress.
4th encounter
I learned my lessons. This time I make sure rarekiller is running with snowfall leger in my bag, I closed every other apps running on my computer before going to sleep, and left wow running fullscreen (still windowed mode) on my second LCD. I also did not go anywhere (camped slightly outside the gate of Valkryion), and learning from my mistake losing it to a god damn hunter, I did not wait too far from the ground time time. I also have "Auto dismount in fight" checked.
This time when NPCSCAN alarm triggered, rarekiller automatically moved towards it, I was still flying a bit higher from it (Whoever told you it flies high needs some smashing) and rarekiller (failed at aggroing it) So I decided to help by controlling the movement with my keyboard and once it attacked me, rarekiller did its job by activating snowfall (though it didn't really matter as I was not too high from the ground).
