Thumb.db flagged as virus?

My Norton is freaking out when I download new versions of DB (since 222) that the thumb.db file is malicious. Is this file necessary? I know it's probably not (and usually I turn off my antivirus when installing a new version) but this only started since 222.

Not necessary.. thumbs.db is a database/cache file of the thumbnail previews you see.
