Hello, any way I can get my Witch Doctor into melee range against Ghom? I am have problems with him on T6 where he is trying to get to me (around my pets), which causes him to walk out of my Big Bad Voodoo range. Any help will be awesome :) also I know something changes around when it changes from 0.7 to 0.8, before 0.8 he did actually walk all the way up to Ghom before popping everything

In other words, I want my WD to facetank Ghom

what items did u use? and barb build 3 i guess?

i mean how comes u saying that lighting needs less surv than fire? ^^

Because you use the lighting rune, together as one, which splits dmg with ancients.

Items and build are basically what Glancey posted a few pages ago in this thread. You can use the search function with that used name in order to find his posts in this thread, because he makes a very detailed report on what items you should wear.

My own setup:

Head: Andariels
Shoulder: Aughild's
Body: Aughild's
Necklace: Rare
Gloves: Cain's
Belt: Thundergod's Vigor
Bracer: Strongarms
Ring1: Stone of Jordan (fire one from my other barb)
Ring2: Royal Ring of Grandeur
Legs: Blackthorne
Feet: Blackthorne

Still needs a lot of tweaks, but can do T6 fast enough with 0 death risk. 54gph (picking stuff, no fast leave and shitty comp :P)

I am still having a ton of problems getting him to stay still with this new update. There are a few times where ghom will literally move to almost one of the corners within the first few seconds. not only does it ruin my dps since he instantly leaves voodoo and the pets have to chase him instead of attacking, but it also causes some deaths as the bot isnt smart enough to survive while everything is on cooldown. id say ghom moves around 40 percent of the time (compared to never with previous version), though 9 times out of 10 he can still be killed before he causes trouble by moving too far. Just odd that he is acting so drastically different all of a sudden. also....standard makes your guy stand waaaaay too far back for certain builds. range positioning is solid and face to face is fine though.
 
Whats your dps and whats your weapons? I have relatively similar gear, minus the stone of jordan and i get no where near the dps. I never have an issue of dieing, even without using together as one but it just takes so long to kill him. My games end up being 30gph.

Yup, exact same issue I have... I do still have about 57-60 games per hour on t6, but really still wish there was a way to get the witch doctor to facetank Ghom again

Notice how Ghom is walking out of the Big Bad Voodoo, sometimes he walks out so far that my pets are also out of the range = much less dps

EDIT: It is obviously because the pets/fetishes are blocking his direct path to reach the Witch Doctor... but this wasn't a problem when it was facetanking him. :D

Why was insta-leave deleted - is it dangerous? I'm still using 0.5 profile with instant leave..

No idea how to play Barb (is using 100% Crusader leftovers + Rares atm)

Just need a skill build, the gear will come on its own :D

well the split dmg 50% dmg reduction helps. mby even unity with follower lol. some like that i guess
 
Still can't figure out why earthquake is used before I reach ghom. Anyone have a fix?

I previously used it, however I just switched over the the regular profile. Yes...using instant-leave is VERY dangerous!

Besides, the regular one is only like 30M XP/hr less for me out of 1.1B/hr.
 
Witch Doctors: doesn't matter if your pets are in the voodoo area, only the WD.
Hmm okay this might actually be true... regardless, when Ghom moves around too much, he gets hit less by the pets. My 15 sec Garg sometimes dies before Ghom dies when he moves around too much, some other times, I still have him while teleporting back, it was more consistent when the profile/trinity had me standing right next to Ghom = never lost Garg before Ghom was dead
 
I'm using the 1.8.28 trinity and set the earthquake fix to trigger at full fury. Problem is my barb isn't using Earthquake ever. How do i fix this?

If you want to message me your barbariancombat.cs and the skill build you're using I'll take a look at it and see where the problem is.

When I almost about to kill Ghom, the game will start to reboot and start the next game. I think the problem is the inactivity timer trip? How do I modify the timer trip?

Oh, problem solved after a quick forum search. I have set the time to "0", then it is ok :)
 
Omg which item make u immune to ghom atk? I guess the poisen clouds? Which item is it??
