Go to your wow folder.. Data and you will see wow-update-base xxx files cut all those files and paste it somewhere in another folder on your desktop... Click repair.exe and run WOW... When you run WOW again make sure you click cancel auto-patch 18414 on battle.net or else you will be back to 18414 again

Login battle.net and disable your auto update patch... Before you do anything else.

to run the repair, you have to launch battle.net app, right?

Launch the app, pause the update, change the update settings, run the scan and repair, relaunch - right?

yeah.. it works for me for alittle until they load wow again they will keep asking if you want to update... If not go to wow-update-base-18273 and fine 414 and change it to 291 make another one with wow-update-base-18273.MPQ.lock

SO I did the repair, and after it finishes, it wants to install 4gb of data... what do I do here?

Alright - so where is the repair tool? Is the only way to repair via the scan & repair feature in the battle.net app?

How do I bypass when it asks me to update?

Dakkah.. I had the same issue as you. I loaded battle.net app and let it download something like 5 gigs. After it was done everything was back to working order.
