I see a lot of different guides going around and a lot of different profiles being used. I just wanted to share with you what I have been doing that has made me very well geared. I get around 4.3m GPH and 750m exp per hour doing this. Leg count is of course going to vary a lot but I generally get 3 Legs per hour. I understand this may not be the highest amount of legs per hour, but I think it is a happy medium of items/EXP/Gold This guide is for a lightning monk, but adjustments can be made if you have the gear to play a fire monk, which is actually more damage than lightning Monk. We are going to cover several things.

1. The route
2. The skills
3. The passives
4. The items

1.The Route

The ONLY profile I ever run is Ghom with the "Three Muskateers 0.7" profile. You can find it by using the search function on profiles forum. Now obviously Ghom farts out poison clouds, so make sure you go into your Trinity settings and un-check the "Path Around AoE" and "Attempt to avoid Aoe" boxes under the combat-Misc tab. You want to face tank the poison. Select a difficulty based on your current gear that allows you to stand in the poison without EVER dieing. You should Be having around 40-50 Games per hour. 40-50 games per hour seems to be about the limit set by Blizzard without getting that error code that says "you have logged out too recently after creating a game." Setting the difficulty too low will result in too many games per hour, and will cause you to get locked out from creating games, and causing you to get less items/gold/exp overall.

2.The Skills

  • --Serenity-Ascension rune
This will allow you to more easily tank the poison on higher torment difficulties. I do Torment 6 on my Monk with 16m toughness
  • --Epiphany-Desert Shroud
This is for the spirit regen mostly. Use Inner Fire rune if you do not need the survivability and want to do something lower than torment 6. You will probably only be able to do torment 6 if you use Desert Shroud rune
  • --Lashing tail Kick-Scorpion Sting rune
Use a different rune if you are not a lightning monk, but i find that lightning works very well for this because you will be stunning the boss a lot, and taking less damage. This skill is the majority of your dmg.
  • --Mantra of Healing-Time of need rune
I only use this for Torment 5 and above. You should be able to run one of the DPS mantras on torment 3 or 4. I suggest Mantra of Conviction-Overware or Mantra of Retribution-Transgresion
  • --Way of the Hundred Fists-Hands of lightning rune
This really does not matter, Use what you like. Whatever generates enough spirit for your fancy, but this one is probably the best for dmg/spirit generation overall
  • --Sweeping Winds-Cyclone rune
Not much to explain. If you are a lightning monk use cyclone. If you are a fire monk use the fire one.
  • --Your Follower
Obviously your follower is not a skill, but he is important for doing higher torment difficulties. My character can actually only do torment 5 or above by using the Crusader. The only thing you need him for is the healing spell. You must also have the Relic on him that makes it so he cannot die, or he would just die to Ghom poison. HIS ONLY PURPOSE IN LIFE IS TO HEAL YOU

3. The Passives

  • --One With Everything
Monks use this because we stack one secondary resit on your gear to get the highest amount of resists all. I have 1620 resists all using this with my gear. Mandatory IMO
  • --Seize the Initiative
This passive turns 30% of your dexterity into armor, and provides a lot of toughness. Mandatory IMO
  • --Resolve
Another defensive passive to allow you to face tank poison on higher torment. Not so mandatory IMO
  • --Combination Strike
An offensive mastery because there is no more good defensive mysteries. I honestly only use this because i wear a Haunt of Vaxo amulet which allows you to get more dmg from this passive because your shadow clones count as spirit generators, if they happen to be using a different one than you are. Possible alternatives for the passive slot are -Transcendance if you have lots of health globe bonus on your gear, or Mythic Rhythm.

4. The Items
Firstly, your chest, shoulders, and bracers DO NOT DROP FROM GHOM. You will need to farm for "Shard of Entsteig Plate,' and the Aughild's recipe to get these 3 itmes. There are profiles that will farm this for you. I have found this profile works good for farming this crafting materiel. https://www.thebuddyforum.com/demon...g-plate-tomekeeper-fecklar-hawthorne-dzi.html

  • --Head
Andarials Visage OR Eye of the storm
EOTS has a bit more % lightning dmg than Andarials, But andarials has a unique proc that does quite a bit of dmg because it procs almost every hit. You be the judge.
  • -Kneck
    Haunt of Vaxo
This amulet has a unique proc that summons shadow clones when you stun an enemy. Your lashing tail kick stuns enemies with the scorpion sting rune. These shadow clones use a random spirit generator which counts towards your combination strikes passive. the stats you want are
Lightning Skills deal x% more dmg
    Dex
    Crit hit damage
    Crit hit chance
main resist or health globe bonus
  • --Shoulders
Aughild's Power. You will be using 3 piece Aughild for the +15% dmg to elites
    Dex
    Vit
    % life
    Armor
    Main resist
Life after kill or health globe bonus
  • --Chest ( Put flawless royal emerald in all armor sockets )
    Aughild's Rule
    Dex
    Vit
    Armor
    %life
    3 sockets
    Main resist
Life after kill or health globe bonus
  • --Bracer
    Aughild's Search
Lightning skills do x% more dmg
    Dex
    Vit
    Crit hit chance
    Main resist
Health globe or life after kill
  • --Ring 1
    Stone of Jordan
lightning skills do x% more dmg
    Dex
    Crit hit chance
Increase dmg against elites by x%
    Main resist
  • --Ring 2
    Unity
    Dex
    Crit hit chance
    Crit hit dmg
Increase dmg against elites by x%
    Main resist
  • --Belt
    The Witching Hour
    Dex
    Vit
    Attack speed
    Crit hit dmg
    Main resist
Life after kill or health globe bonus
  • --Alternative Belts
    Hellcat waistguard or T-gods vigor
  • --Pants. You are going to want to use Blackthornes 2 piece for +10% dmg to elites
    Blackthorne's Jousting Mail
    2 sockets
    Dex
    Vit
    Life %
    Main resist
    Healthglobe or life after kill
  • --Boots
    Blackthorne's spurs
    Dex
    Vit
    Armor
Lashing Tail Kick DMG ( Really try to get this one, you do not need movement speed because you can get it from paragon points)
    Main resist
Health globe or life after kill
  • --Weapon 1 ( Put flawless royal emerald in all weapon sockets )
Shard of Hate ( Hands down best in slot weapon for monk, the proc from this weapon is affected by your "lightning skills do x% more dmg" )
    Xxxxx-xxxxx DMG
    Dex
    % DMG
    Socket
    Life after kill
  • --Weapon 2
Thunderfury or Odyn Son ( Odyn son is actually better if you can get a good one because the proc from it is affected by your "lightning skills do x% more dmg" )
    xxxxx-xxxxx DMG
    Dex
    %dmg
    Socket
    Life after kill
  • --Alternative weapons
Won Khim Lau OR The Fulminator
Both of these are also verry good weapons until you get best in slot

Not bad, but I have a suggestion

Use Tyreal's might...20% damage buff vs Ghom

Good idea, I had not really thought of that. It could be a slight upgrade, but it will force you to also use Ring of Royal Grandeur to still get 3 piece Aughild's bonus. You would be gaining +5% dmg to Ghom by using a 20% dmg to demons tyreals with a RORG instead of Unity over Aughild's chest.

I got a quick question, since I can't figure it out myself. I do not have the weapons you list yet, besides af TF. my question is now, I use Crystal Fist on my off-hand - I today then found a Scrimshaw that has +1112-1379 light dmg. Scrimshaw has lower dmg than CF, but does this light dmg get affected by +light skill dmg on my other items, or is that of no matter?

No +light skill damage only affects players' skills.
