The Nav is really getting bad

this past week all people have been doing is bitching about a beta staged bot... i know nav has been out for a while but i mean honestly, if you see a problem its not hard to click blackspot and place it into your profile

I know most people leave their bots unattented but who cares? when you attend it again take 30 seconds and fix the profile then fire it up again

That's really not the solution man. There comes a point when putting 1,000's of band-aids on something is not the way to keep it supported. Your going to want to take the life support tube out sooner or later. The real issue is that honorbuddy is lacking any features to prevent repeated failures of a certain code mostly in the navigation area. When the bot doesn't move from the same spot for 2-3 minutes, there is a problem. If it can't fix it, which it should have had ample time to do already, it needs to toss an alert and take some action. That action should most likely be like finding a different path. If that primary action fails then it should boot the bot off and send an alert.

Totally agree man. Not to mention that 2-3 min stuck is not an issue, but being stuck 2-8 hours like it has happened to me do raise flags;

- People will report... the "anti-botter"
- The system is not stupid and it knows someone shouldnt be at one place for an hour without moving anywhere else and not go afk or disconnected.

Im pretty sure the last time I got banned did have to do with this. Adding blackspots did not fix the profile, it just got stuck else where.

I went to <Hotspot X="-5866.787" Y="-3259.748" Z="298.3367" />, tried to go to <Hotspot X="-5343.68" Y="-2932.134" Z="324.3613" /> and got this message:

Generated path from <-5866.545, -3259.59, 298.3708> to <-5343.68, -2932.134, 324.3613> in 594 ms (0.59 seconds)

So for some reason, it worked on my system and not yours.

We also need to find a more graceful way to handle this type of problem. Logging out when the bot can't find a path may be the best option.

I agree, at least it wont get stuck doing the same thing for hours and hours.

Use your Questing Outland profile. When the Char runs to Zangarmarsh, i think its lvl 62.... While questing/grinding the first ~one hour, the char stands stuck between a fungus and jump around and around... gets stuck, while there?s nothing crossing his way.
This happened with 3(!!) chars now, while using this profile.

HB desperately needs a repetition detector. If something happens more then 10 times in a row and a solution can't be found, just stop and log out, or SOMETHING. I can't afford another wow account banned because I've been running back and forth for 8 hours trying to get unstuck from a fence post or something.

Could a repetition detector be built as a plugin? I currently use the eSafe plugin which does a pretty good job of logging me out if I'm stuck in one position, but it doesn't register if I am moving back and forth.

For my part i totaly stopped using HB with all these report/weird ban and so on, HB is just not working it bug foir nothing at some weird place and shouldnt bug at some others but for some reason it bug, it bug jump like a frog once a quest go wrong and keep trying to use same path when it could simply go with another, i totaly siding with mord , something need to be done, HB is in alpha stage and need constant babysitting, you can be lucky and have no problem but all a sudden it will go all wrong with another system or even with the same system. No wonder there is so much ban/report for HB, most will fire it up and leave it work alone ( like a normal bot should be ), pershap its time to switch to ppather or add it as optionnal? it worked much better than nav system and by far.

Most of the release are labeled stable, it shouldnt be used when a version mount/dismount and then when this get fixed, we get a gathering problem, when this one is fixed, we get 2 more problem and so on. I still cant figure out why there is so much little bugs/problem with every single release, some code pershap need to be rewrited/revamped coz they are justnt working.

Also note that HB is one of the only current bot beside pershap mimic that i can spot within 30 second of watching someone using it.

Movement, looking like is MUCH better than other bots. I don?t tell it... i used many bots and know where i?m talking about!

Lol you probably didnt try much bot then or used some badly recorded profile, HB is very easy to detect into his movement while grinding , you see the bot move toward SW and then boom it move NW and then boom SW, to then go straigh.....load on a diff account or simply go at the most popular profile, you may have a big laugh. Ppather moved naturaly beside some hic hup and most of the wp bot will move better althrough they keep doing the same path ( note if your noob enough to record a wp path badly dont expect the bot to move better than you recorded it )

Anyway the fact remain that HB is buggy, lots of bugs and when one is fixed, another or a previous older one come back. Mount is a nightmare and the jump at same spot or the bot stucking on a path for hours are totaly turning poeple nuts. This is a beta bot at most if not alpha even, not a stable bot. The day my bot will do what it have to do without hic hup , then they can call it stable.

i dont have much problems with it , i found some profiles have a few places with a sucky spot but nothing like u say.

lucky you then, some system go better than some, not sure why and it shouldnt be that way anyway like i mentionned in a previous page. Some profile are sure worse than others depending the area. The farming profile i used didnt had a single bug in it or any problem with it either ( for my lvl 80 ), its while leveling 1-80 which is a nightmare, questing side is beta and i can understand it, but 1-80 without questing shouldnt be bugging that much, mord seem to have the exact same problem i have.

This is what click to move does. Any bot that uses click to move will look like this, unless it uses 10+ clicks to make a smooth turn. To be fair though, a good number of my friends use click to move when not in a raid or instance and they look somewhat like this, but not nearly as exaggerated as what the bot does.

As far as the nav goes, I'll agree with this thread. I have to sit and watch the bot while it grinds in Winterspring because it won't navigate properly to the repair NPC's inside the hut. It tries to run through the side wall to get to them.

I don't have MUCH issues but few which are exists quite annoying.
And the most annoying is "from water to land" routes as my toon gets struck like in 95% of these.
It's just faps over the water/land border FOR HOURS and yes - it do threaten me as I can't even imagine more bottish behavior.

Is it possible to include in HB some kind of "how long am I trying to get from A to B" check? Smth simple like

if Time.I.Started.To.Move.From.A.To.B is x3 > than a.To.B.Route.Length/Average.Velocity and There.Were.No.Combat.Involved then Blacklist.This.Spot.For.30.minutes and Recreate.Last.Route

And btw Bossland have you ever thought about inviting some kind of non-programmer project manager? A kind of QA Lead to run bugtracker DB, track forum for ideas/bug reports etc?

i agree with mordd, something has to be done with the nav of HB.
I also agree with Zuruss (even tho he was really annoying on the glider forums), Making Sudden NW -> S spins then going the opposite direction looks terribly like a bot . Cant you make it move like ppather did? HB would move so much smoother!!
