Why don't you guys use the Templar? He has "Inspire" which can increase the generation of Spirit, which allows you to recast Wave of Light earlier.

Did you not read the post? The point of this build is to avoid LOH and LS by getting LOK.

I had built out a monk for about 40 mil already that was stacked on MF and GF, but only rolling with about 50k dps (on MP0, was still tearing through things, and could go to MP1 with only a slight slowdown and still do well). I decided to try this out, so switched out one of his rings and got a 1.25k 199% crit 300 dex Skorn with 3.5k LOK, which put him up to 85k dps.

At first, I thought this was going to be much better. Previously, my monk would 2-3 shot most things in MP0, and now he 1 shots most, with the exception of some of the super high health normals that take 2 shots. Also, previously it would take him a bit on elites, and now if he gets lucky crits, I will roll them in 5 seconds or so. The weird thing is, even with this increased dps, and only losing 15% GF from my ring, my GPH went from about 430k to 360k.

I do not know if that is because, previously, those 2-3 hits (or 3-4 on MP1)were so much faster that it is actually taking longer to go from 1 mob to the next, even 1 hitting, or if the spirit gen from the fast hits was actually killing more by adding more waves, or what...maybe it is the gold find difference. I lost 15% from my ring, and 25% from doing MP1, but that does not seem like enough to make this difference. I've gained 3 paragon levels since starting this, so the net loss is actually only 31% total.

I'm going to experiment around with this a bit, and see what I can get. Maybe it is because I am actually over budget, and have geared my monk out to have GF\MF, though it seems that extra GF would make this even better if it was truly killing faster.

Would only work if you had large amounts of LOH \ LOK on other items. The dragon itself would need to roll a high crit dmg roll and a socket.

Seems I just needed a little more dex to get my dps to the correct level. I watched it for a bit and noticed that it was taking 2 - 3 shots randomly on some (guess random rolls on minimum damage). This bot is new, so it is going through paragon quickly. After about 6 more paragon levels, it was 1 shotting things much more regularly, and never taking more than 2. I'm sure the gold find bonus from paragon is helping too, but my GPH has jumped up to 450k+.

I think I will use this build to do my new few bots too. Once I make enough cash back on this one to pay for the D3 key, I am going to roll out another monk and go from there.

Skorn is way better, you want more weapon dmg for the crit dmg, wave of light dmg etc

the movementspeed is just beautyfull. still not sure how to gear a monk (went for innas 4piece invested roughly 50 mill per bot which is ok for me) but im guessing ill switch to monk on future bots. Went for skorn on the first one and for dual wield on the second, are you sure 2 handed is the way to go?

I guess u're on US server, I built monk for 30M, trying to get everything u listed, however I don't have amulet since I had no left gold and it cost 8M..

Is it better to farm on Act 1 MP1 or Act 3 MP0? I guess Act 3 still wins out due to the density of the creatures?

Getting 15m/h exp with this so far, with only 60k dps. Other stats are pretty close to yours. I think I spent only about 8mil on gear so this is really nice.

hmmm tried out a combo of sever and butcher sickle... it actually farms alot slower than using a two-handed weapon... zzzz gues back to my trusty flying dragon again!!!

a flying dragon works well and its pretty cheap too... except that u have to give LOK/LS/LOH for the additional socket in order to boost the crit dmg portion.

How viable is this with a skorn without LoK? I have one sitting around with high dex, everything BUT LoK. Just wondering if I need to buy one, or if this one will do.
