this patch time I know has been a blunder for many wanting to use HB but so far narry a whisper of desperation or even a single complaint (that I have seen) so far. All the while the devs keeping us in the loop and informed of whats going on with hb and things of that nature.
It really seems that between the last major patch and this patch there has been some maturing within the community. And its a damned fine sight to see.
Keep up the good work devs, Community keep doin what ya do. Personally I'll just wait till hb comes back online to play the new patch content. Since Tyrael plugin, I have 0 idea how to play any of my classes lol.
Thanks all for making the community as a whole a more enjoyable place to come chill during updates.
I know this may come off as trolling but, you must not have read many topics as of the past few days there has been more name calling, more trolling and more whining about HB and x64bit than I would say since mists launched. That is just my 2cp though.
I agree with the OP. Having been here for many patches, this has been the one with the least complaining. As for the 64 bit thread, hey, people need something to occupy them and what harm does it do to wish for something?

Its better cause after suggesting it for 4 patches, the devs finally made a sticky for important messages. Even made a pop-up for
security messages. Thanks guys, no problem. Finally after all those years moaning you do something you should have done 5 patches ago.
They keep us in the loop. Not enough for me tbh, since i suck at playing whatever class now after botting for 2 years. But they keep us informed.
If the trolls who flame everyone for not seeing their post about it shut up as well, the forum is a better place allr.
Yes theres less QQ, yes is allready better here. Will i spend more time here then, nty.. get a profile, a cc and poof, out of here.
Its a bot forum, not ment to socialize.
And since every 6th and a half cc has only full cap if you donate i cba even to contribute anymore other then to leaves for problem solving.
Those cc creators forget one thing, we helped you all along the way, reporting bugs and what not, and now we need to pay for a full function cc
just cause you spend time on it?
Its called sharing with the community. Once you did it for us, now for your wallet. Donations should be voluntary, not mandatory. Some just cant pay,
even if they wanted and those that just cant are stuck with a half functioning profile, which before all this premium shit was going on, was always a full functioning one.
With so many botting in one way or the other, the only reason if you win now or not means if you payed or not, disgusting to say the least!
Anyway, my 2 cents and again the first and last one in a looooooooooooooooooooooong time.
I have noticed there have been less threads complaining about bot downtime, general complaints, etc.
However, I still the same old trolling, but I have been very lenient because I know people need to vent or need something to pass the time.
For the past few patches I have been making the "Update Status" sticky, and it looks like it is starting to pay off.
At the time of the patch dropping, the announcement I made 3 weeks ago had about 5000 views.
The sticky has ~70k views.
I hope that is was these posts that helped alleviate post-patch stress.
I didn't ask for a "must view to continue" announcement because the patch affects 1 of 5 products. Even though HB has the largest userbase, I felt that only a product-wide announcement was necessary.
People may say that we don't keep them in the loop enough, but that is only partly true.
We try to keep the community notified of what is going on, but we aren't going to go in-depth into everything we are doing.
You may have noticed an update from raphus stating that the API needs to be updated.
Another by Hawker saying that detection issues have been worked out, and the bot itself is being worked on.
Frankly, that's all people outside of the staff need to know.
I think there has been a complete lack of communication personally.
First they stated it was done and they were testing. Then there was a beta. Now there isnt. They said it wouldn't be a staggered release now it seems there will be.
Not my first bot for many games i know how it seems like a dammed if u do dammed if they don't attitude. And any update will be held as gospel by the majority of people.
But its something we paid good money for. It seems like its been a cluster fuck in time management why in gods they would try and go all out and do a full release as there first option is beyond me.
Most people use only certain facets of honorbuddy to try and get it all up and working correctly seems a waste of time. KISS policy applies.
As for the community all i have seen is people ripping on the new people. All of them sitting on there high horse saying "I have been through this a million times l2 read blah blah blah".
With customer relations and product support people don't read forums they only know hey my products not working i paid for it i want an answer.
It takes all of 2 mins to reply and link a thread all this "Community" seems to do is link the thread and then rip on the person for not being a pro botter.
You really have to cater for the lowest common denominator and do it nicely when you have a product of this scope. Force people to look at the update thread.
Takes 2mins from the web monkey and stops the theme of people getting ripped on 'For not being hc or having done this for years'.
As for the paid combat routines why is that a problem. If you saved up all your 2c u could afford one.

Two things... First off you cannot possibly hold a developer to the letter of what they say when they are dealing with something as huge and dynamic as World of Warcraft.
When a patch comes out for something as vast as WoW, the developers of HB automatically have a lot of ground to cover just to try and understand what was changed. Then they have to figure out how to develop their own product around that change, all while keeping up with Blizzard's ever changing detection methods.
In the midst of all that they somehow have to cater to a horde of impatient customers and frankly, were I them, my information would not be 100% on point every time either. Shit happens, things change, and the game must go on.
As for the treatment of new customers on the forums, well that is another matter entirely. I will admit that I have seen people react overly harsh and even extremely rude in reaction to what they perceive as a stupid question or a simple case of illiteracy (even some really popular CC and profile developers).
All that being said, I can honestly say that at least 80% of the time the person that is being flamed or insulted is genuinely suffering from a full on case of derp... When I first came to HB, I spent at least an hour and a half reading the dozens of stickies and researching how HB worked and what I needed. By the time I was done, the only questions I've ever had to post on this site were legitimately founded and didn't really have readily available answers.
So, when I see JoeTard1234 ask why a given CC isn't working under BGBuddy when one of the first things the developer said was "Does not support movement, and does not support BGBuddy", I get a little nerd ragey too.
Just because the game is vast doesn't mean the hook is.
The key word here is customers. Paying customers. Be that the derp who doesn't read forums or the person who takes the time to read the forums post logs and help cc writers.
Why would we not hold developers to what they say? We paid them for the product.
Im not concerned about the down time what does erk me is the fact that in the original communication was that bot is done and we are testing. Then beta then no beta then oh have to redo api.
Like i said dammed if you do dammed if you don't. Might pay to get all ya ducks in a row before opening the dialogue.
Not enough mods to deal with the questions? How is that the derps problem.
Simpler solution would be to make it foolproof. We had a recent warning in regards to diablo why not wow?. Why are the forums even public? Only bot site i know of that has public forums. Forums should be for paying customers.
Can easily sort them into groups who has what bot who needs pertinent information etc. Seems a bit half assed.
A bit of time on structure would save the need for other members to think its ok to rip on ppl and also make sure everyone has the information they need when they login to say hey my wow wont run in 32 bit. /headdesk.
A hook is just a place in the code that allows you to tap in to the program... That isn't the hard part. Ensuring that HB works despite any changes the developers made, and ensuring HB defeats any potential new detection methods ARE what take a long time...

Maybe employ some more thorough reading comprehension next time... his exact words were "Honorbuddy is updated". That is a long way from "done". The servers weren't even up at the time so they hadn't even had a chance to test in game functionality (outside of PTR) let alone any new Warden behavior.
If they took your advise we would be back to no dialogue... Like I said, they cannot possibly know every problem they are going to encounter, therefore there is no way they can predict every solution. Get over it.
ROFL, I have worked in IT for the last 12 years of my life. 7 of those years I've worked for a fortune 100 company that develops software for hospitals. Consider that our customers are professionals that went to school for years to earn degrees in medicine. Not an easy thing to do. Still we get service tickets from nurses and doctors about the absolute dumbest things. Things that make the average HB derp look like a genius. I say this to illustrate that absolutely NOTHING is "fool proof" because there is always a fool bigger than your proof. The best asset for any person trying to get something to work, or trying to figure something out is a community that's been there and done that. Even at the cost of some assholes within that community.

I'm sure you've heard this before, but it only serves to further illustrate my point... Had you read all the stickies regarding the installation and set up of Honorbuddy, you would have already known that HB only supports WoW running in 32 bit. You are literally the guy who refuses to read the manual, and calls tech support anyway. GTFO.
I just want to know what a closed beta means to you.
The public was not promised anything.
HB was almost ready to beta test internally, hence closed beta.
Hoping to get a beta release does not mean there will be anything released.
It was possible, but things happen. There was no beta released.
For everything else, read my above reply, Update status sticky, and the announcement that has been up for 3 weeks.
