Did that ban wave include Diablo 3? I remember hearing a lot of news about it for WoW but nothing to do with Diablo 3. Since the same company is producing each bot...were both games affected?

I never actually read about a ban wave for Diablo 3, so I'm very curious.

No there was 2 different 6 month ban waves for HB on wow, but it was only on wow.

Wow, good to know. So there has never been an official ban wave for D3? So most of the time people are getting banned because they are careless, botting 24/7 and people noticing this and reporting them?

The last ban I remember on D3 was back when they had the RMAH. They would ban people with bots because they could farm a shit ton of gold and buy stuff from the AH causing super inflated prices which made it almost impossible for casual non-botters to buy anything from it. Since they did away with the AH completely I haven't seen any bans on D3. Seems Blizzard doesn't care too much as long as it doesn't involve losing money in some way.

They haven't really had any, I thought I had read stuff around the point of the end of season 1 pointing to bans. But no huge ban wave, just flagged accounts one way or another. Most bans are related to exploits, you exploit for a long period of time and leave the exploit on when they fix it and expect to lose the account.

Yes they had a large D3 banwave this time last year.

LOL. Well there were some pretty big threads on here about it. I had 3 accounts banned during that time. There hasn't been a ban wave on D3 since that.

This was over a year ago was it not tho.

no it definitely was not it was DB

The last ban wave blizzard had for d3 was for the exploits.

There has not been an end of season ban wave in at least a year. A hand full of people is not a wave. There was not even a hand full of people who reported a ban here during the time of the exploit ban.

A wave will come maybe end of this season.

End being, after the season? Or just before the end when people are pushing? lol

Probably just before the end so that legit players have a chance to re top the charts. And Bot's removed. That's what they did in the past for exploit ban.

They could easily check the top 2k of each leader bored by hand if they wanted to. Xzjv said it best tho that they want full detection

What do you mean by "they want full detection"? How would they be able to ban someone if they don't have physical proof of the program running with their client? Surely they could just open someones profile and check "hours played" and then ban them if it's insanely high...

They do use some simularr detection methods to wow.
Like visiting the same spot 2 billion times

Proof of detection could be an real person watching you or automated detection.

They want full automated. It's illegal to scan outside there allocateed space unless you accept something first. Also buddy Bot's do not attach to the game process it self and is why blizzard need sti scsn outside f. And even saying these things I'm not 100 percent it's just what I seem to understand from.different post here.

Example wow terms of service agreement.
