The auto-updater is meant as a convenience but it may cause problems. It's there for incase you want it, you can easily click a button and it updates.
If it doesn't work or something is fishy you should just download the zip or exe and don't merge the folders. If you don't wish to risk the problems simply download the exe and zips every time, it's the same content but without updating risks.

just tested the latest test release. logged in fine, on first try. fresh install, in a sperate folder. using only default plugins and singular. didnt add anything custom to it. test using raidbot with singular on a raid boss dummy. no errors at all, no lag, changed no settings for anything. and it did the singular rotation just as its intended to work for my assassination rogue.
