Suspicious whispers

Suspicious whispers + BAN 1 day after

Ssup buddies? I remember recently reading a post about someone getting whispers from a person that was neither in friend list or recent players list and when trying to check the profile "Could not find a valid diablo3 profile for this player". Not gold selling-advertising whispers, but normal whispers. I can't seem to find that post again now, can't remember what i was looking for at that time and came across it.

If any of you knows the post, be so kind to paste it here :). Happened to me too and i wasn't at the computer to reply (not that i understood what he said, wasn't in English :D, but at least to say "what? " or "go away" u know..) . So i wanted to see the conclusion in the similar post.

If you remove a friend, do you get removed from his list also ?

Of course, some of us would think "why the fuc would blizz do such ..whisper checks".. but then again.. why would a normal player do this and how can he do it without being on your list?

Anticipated apologies if this is not the correct forum to post this, it just seemed the most appropriate for me, as the other similar post that i read was asking about bans and if they check in such ways.

Please don't bash me, I cannot assist with your mystery whisperer. I did want to inform the community of what happened to me today. I came back to my computer after being AFK several hours. I hit the "R" key, thus replying to a whisper on accident. Turns out I had apparently been whispered by a certain BlizzardGM19. I was not able to find any history of the whisper in my chat dialogue, too much chatter had occurred. I was wondering myself if someone had created an account to scroll through the people in channels and bother them, or if that was a real employee, and now I am "flagged" for being AFK and perhaps a bit more. No emails received. Anyone else? By the way, the name was purple in color, so likely a genuine employee.

Call blizz and tell them you couldn't answer because you were pooing at this time and your little bro (5 years old) was playing, i think they will understand that and unflag you
 
i had this happen to me once, some random guy whispered me some random question. i answered it and that was it. strange thing is that i couldnt check his profile(right click>view profile) when i tried, makes it kinda suspicious.

Had the same thing happen to me about a month ago on one of my accounts, the weird part was I was actually at the keyboard and said, "send me an e-mail", as Blizzard won't ever truly contact you in game about something like that, they would send you an e-mail. Account hit in the last wave, banned. My other account is just fine, and haven't received one of these tells. The odd part is the e-mail states something about going to a website, it is a mirror image of the battlenet homepage, but its NOT legit, after researching it, it is not a secure site and shoots you out to some random page, that is NOT owned by blizzard. This is the reason it was so weird, I think it was a coincidence that I got this whisper on that account, but I dunno.

Call Blizzard and tell them that your mother teached you not to talk with strangers, so you ignored him.
 
In my case, it wasn't a gm, it was normal whisper, it wasn't purple. All i could understand ..something about ubers and machines :). The oddity was that i couldn't check the profile after. Thanks for sharing previous experiences on this matter.
 
I had one such whisper the other day aswell... And luckily I was at the keyboard. He whispered me in some foreign language, and I replied "What?" - and he said "Ohh, your not romanian!".

It's weird, cuz it was one of my bots, and account was almost all new, it hadn't been in any social games with anyone (therefore no players in "recently played with") - I haven't whispered anyone, or written anything in general chat. I was just botting it to lvl 60 at the time beeing.


Now all my bots suddenly get continious cooldown on potions... But I'm guessing that's a DB issue ;-).
 
Just to let u know guys, got banned 1 day after suspicious whispers (meaning just now, 1/1, 24/7, changing ip every 8h or so, giles 1.6.3.4, rads 1.5.1, a3 champion, sold gold through rmah, supervising anywhere 4h->6h a day) . it has been running for approx 1 month.
