I posted in some other threads about this problem, and I've tried every solution people have mentioned, and none have worked. I had been using DB flawlessly for a few days (outside of the nav server issues). After running it for a few hours, I paused it in town as I have done many times. After messing around in town for a while, DB closed completely for no reason. I wasn't sure why it closed, but I didn't think about it at that time because I still had stuff to do in town.
After switching back and forth through characters and fine-tuning their gear, I went to turn DB back on and I noticed it hung at "Logging in...". I closed it and it turned black (had to manually close it in taskmgr). I started reading the forums and noticed other people has issues. Slowly, people started posting potential solutions.
I tried all suggestions. I uninstalled 2010 and 2012 redist. I uninstalled 4.5.2, I uninstalled 4.5.1. I fresh installed DB twice. I tried DB Beta with 4.5.2 and latest c++. Nothing has worked.
So, in a nutshell, after working basically flawlessly for about a week, DB stopped working out of the blue (I made no changes, I was not doing anything in options, I didn't install anything in windows). It no longer works for me in any capacity as I am unable to get past "Logging in...".
