Many of you wonder, why we have said, that Arena will no longer will be available.

Actually, since the beginning of Honorbuddy, Arena was the only section of the game where we actually never wanted our bot to be. There where many requests in the forums and we always declined them. We did not want to automate Arena. The main reason for this was, that this is the only thing in WOW that had the one-on-one spirit of competition. And we wanted to leave it that way. The decision came from above, from Bossland and from Hawker.

As you can see in one of the typical requests, we always declined to involve HB with the Arena*:

If you search harder you will most likely find many such posts.

Why the recent change then? Again it is not a change, it is something we decided long ago but did not enforce.

We are now just making sure it stays the way it was supposed to be since 2010. That said, we are also looking into Battlegrounds.

We approved Honorbuddy to be used in Battlegrounds since its first release but we will look into that again and tell you if we have a change of mind very soon. Or maybe, just maybe Blizzard opens the "Bottlegrounds" with patch 6.2., exclusively for us paying customers.

I am also very sorry about the censorship that took place in this forum, i have reopened most of the threads. You are always free to discuss relevant matters in our forums.

Sounds fair.

I'm assuming there is still no ETA? Saw on some post that a...I think it was some kind of staff members said it would be released maybe tonight or during the day tomorrow? Sorry for nagging know there are people spamming the shit out of this but I'm just curious.

Thanks for the update mate. Now I know about HB not supporting automation in Arena like it does in BG's but does using a pvp CR fall under automation? I know it handles your rotation for you but it doesn't run around pillar hugging and being awesome. All of the movement is up to the player. As aposed to bg's where you can click start and walk away for a few hours.

Can you explain this a bit clearer?

Edit: I do not get "Bottlegrounds" - Maybe I am too much n00b :)

Refreshing to see this line of communication and to see that threads are being opened.
I feel that the more communication and openness from the staff the better. There will always be entitled assholes, and sadly those are heard the loudest.

I don't have any CR's that automate Arenas, I have to move and press buttons just like any other instance. The only thing that automates is Fishing, BGbuddy, Dungeon Buddy, Gatherbuddy, and Grindbot. Is automation what you are worried about?

This, let us just use CR in bgS AND RBGs.
You can disable Bgbuddy, but please not the CRs!!

Arena shouldn't be allowed. It makes the bot so much safer to everyone else. Please don't give in to them.

I do a lot of pvp with HB... or used to. It helped me grind much honour for gear. Saying that I dont mind if it goes from battlegrounds. That was not why I had hb. I had many characters so I used HB for most of their normal rotations. I did not automate interrupts or cc as I preferred to be in control of that. I basically used HB for the dps routine and to automatically follow the person so I could concentrate on things like timing my cc, more map awareness, communication and timing my burst (which was set to one key).

I dont mind no battlegrounds, but would still like a CR that can run a good rotation and which does no interrupts :D Im pretty confident an alternative will pop up somewhere and I see there is an open source option available as well. Ill support that, and Ill continue supporting HB for all the other random stuff.

hope will help you with this video

That's like the 95% of the battlegrounds on EU servers after 00:00 lol.

It's actually more noticeable in bg's especially random bg's because the bots all follow the same path. In arena you can hardly tell unless someone has kickbot set on a hair trigger.

Many of you wonder, why we have said, that Arena will no longer will be available. <--- I am confused about that statement Arena was never supported, so I don't no how it won't be available anymore? I think a cr and a combat base is no issue, a bot doing auto movement is since there is no Arena bot with auto movement that is not an issue. Look at it from this perspective people will bot Arena, Battleground, Raids, Dungeons regardless though allow them with Cr then they are not afk.

I'm curious to how difficult coding would be to disallow auto movement in BGs. Or make it need more user input so AFKing in BGs can be removed.

I can see CRs doing auto movement for melee classes and auto facing for ranged. Simply remove the pathing profile or hotspots so the user needs to control it else it will stand there.

Fully removing PvP removes top much. Removing the AFK except for leveling/grinding/farming aspects (aka solo aspects that have little impact on other users) would make HB a very small target. Yes it still bots and does break rules, but less likely to piss off the world so less overall bans until Blizzard decides to give a damn.

User safety would be pretty high. Really the only report based bans will be from people still AFKing and thus standing in one place or attempting to use another plugin that gives it movement. Or suicide farmers taking full control of an area.

Plus removing the full AFK while in group areas aspect allows an even cut between PvP and PvE. We wouldn't be touching Blizzard playgrounds.
AFK dungeon gold farming would be ruined as the dungeon would block movement though so users would have to switch up to different farming methods. Full AFK mount runs also an out...

Hmm, any way to disable movement for of level group content only?

EDIT: or bring Arena back but enforce a delay in auto interrupt on the CRs?

Arena is not maze or jumping puzzle. In Arena you are trying to play better than your opponent, but it is not possible for human to compete against complex CRs that we saw in last few months.

This topic can be discussed over and over, but result is same - legit players cant compete against our CRs and they are angry, because they cant play. This problem is not that big in BG, because one player with CR is not able to win whole BG.
