For those of you, like me, whom check this section regularly regarding the current status of DemonBuddy this thread is for you.

Currently, as of 5-15-2014, there have only been a handfull of bans in the past month (literally, around 4 to 6 bans) reported, and all of them have been related to people cursing, using racist words, or just telling people to "Fuck off and don't join my games!". None of these bans were the result of "Botting", and all of them reported so far were the result of breaking TOS rules with regard to chat.



So far, it seems like they still do not give two shits about botting until Ladders open.



~I bot 24hrs a day, 7 days a week, and i'm above 600 Paragon now with an average of 2.8 legs per hour running T6 Ghom. I'll probably be the first to be banned for botting :o

Hate to spoil your hard hitting investigation into these bans, but I lost 9/9 and I do not fall under any of your categories. People were banned, not very many but a few. Overall not much to worry about IMO.

nobody knows what they go for when banning people, those people who got banned were most likely got tons of reports from jealous players, i am doing the same as you and at first i was like "oh no what if i get banned etc" now i just dont give a shit because quite frankly the game is fucking shit and no amount of tuning will fix it cause the core is not d2 and thats where it falls flat, right now i just do ghom t6 and 24/7 and cant remember the last time i played manually, tbh i dont even know why i bot and i used to think people who said " if your botting consider yourself banned" a bunch of retards but they are right, nobody know why or how, just that if you bot sooner or later you will get caught just like a criminal in the end everyone gets caught even the great ones like al capone, so it all comes to question of will you be the al capone of botting or a henchman who dies in the opening scene?
 
Well its nice to be positive, but I think this is a little ignorant. And not ignorant just because you didnt really do *that* must investigation, but more you cannot know what the bands are from, and this is basically hearsay. Sure, some people MAY have been banned for just being pricks, but this doesnt then lead to a rational argument that the bans were just people being dicks. Thats called circumstantial.
 
If I were bliz, then right now I would just be monitoring and improving detection. Bots don't affect the players who don't bot much currently. In ladder that may be a different story...

The biggest hurdle in regards to banning is that they have to be 100% certain the person in question is botting. I work in a similar environment and we go through great pains to make sure we're absolutely certain the party in question is breaking the rules.

I'm not sure if you remember the last time Blizzard acted on a bunch of false positives, but it was a mess.
