Startup Advice

So I've been botting quite casually since TBC with Glider - always very low key and sporadically. No bans but I've never really made much from it, just picked up the slack in really annoying grinds (mats/pvp/reps/bit of levelling alts). I quit Wow after a couple of months of WoD (due to rl) and have just recently come back and with my rl schedule as it is, it didn't take me long to boot up HB. However, since I've always valued my main account so highly (it's from day 1 vanilla release) and with the recent sale on new copies of wow I thought I would try a pure botting account that I don't mind losing. I've secured it in all the recommended ways, different everything, only IP & computer tying it to my main account (which I no longer bot on at all).

So what I'm wondering is, does anyone have any advice setting up a brand new botting account? I've started levelling a BM hunter(herbing + skinning) with kicks for max level farming but does anyone have any advice on additional chars / profs / whatever that I should be doing? This account is purely for farming, I have no interest in using it for pvp or raids - it's entirely there to help fund / supply my main account.

I recomend you to start a druid for gathering propose... Druids can fly while gathering herbs, so you will gather faster resources.
And another tip is to have an tank class to grind, such as war or dk so you can tank alot of then together and fast kill then!

There are some paid routines for then that really worth the price. If you want to know more just pm me

Everyone can if you have a level 2 stable in your garrison as well. Thought I'd mention that. Other than that, you are correct about war or DK, but hunter really isn't bad with the pet tank and high dps.

When you hit 100, you'll hit Tanaan and get your Sumptuous Fur, Leather, Herbs and Felblight to sell/use.

If your using the account on the same computer/ip and botting for your main acount then your main account can be banned as well. I'd watch carefully how you transfer gold etc to your main account. Maybe purchase things on AH at a premium from your main? If you do some research on your forums.. there are many posts about people getting banned from similar things with even more protection then you've mentioned. such as new computer/ip/etc

Hey guys thanks very much for the pointers, I think I'll use my WoD 90 boost on a feral/guardian druid

Also does tailor give higher sumptuous fur drops? I've seen a number of conflicting opinions on it and wondered if anyone here had anything solid to go on.

Would people recommend paid content from the buddystore? I've been hesitant as I've always found the free content / my own custom grinding profiles to be sufficient - but maybe I'm missing out?
