Starting botting for $$$, could use advice

So, after purchasing HB primarily for leveling some of my characters and grinding honor, I have come to the conclusion that as a college student I would like to benefit from some extra cash (I'm aiming for like $50 a week or something simple...... I can't buy any drinks for women at the bar if my pockets are empty...haha.)


Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had any advice on which professions to take up that require minimal effort on my part and how to go about that. I have my main account, which I bot on very carefully and I would like to get another account to have maybe one 90 and use him to make money.


So, couple generic questions here...


1. How do you use guild bank's successfully? Can you have a low level guild and still have the features you need? How many bank alts do I need if I only am going for like $50 a week?

2. What are the easiest professions to make money with? Least time consuming (I was assuming mining/herb gathering, correct me if I am wrong)

3. Whats the best class to use? Should I buy a fresh new account and level him up while gathering/mining (if that's even possible? I'm new....), or should I buy a level 85 to save myself some time (if it is the right price)

4. Should I sell it directly to the customer? or should I sell it to a gold seller? Is there a preferable site to use?



If you like giving advice, please feel free to add anything from experience, as it will be unequivocally helpful.

Tell you the truth you might be hard up for tips..people don't generally like competition..especially when it comes to making actual money..

heres a few tips.
always have a plan B gold selling is a hard business, if you plan to do this for a day to day living you will probably have better luck in an actual job

dont get greedy, mo money mo problems.

If you google about, you will find gold sellers who are looking to buy gold, that said, you are not likely to make much actual cash out of this. WOW gold is cheap to buy, $5 for 10K and even cheaper, so, you might get $1 per 10K selling to a gold seller. So, to make your $50 a month, you would need to farm 500K gold per month, or, 17K per day.

17K a day is not all that hard to achieve, if you manage to always be on top of the market and selling the things that are in high demand with small supply, but, if you are looking at things like cloth, 20G per stack, leather 80G per stack, or ore 50G per stack on my server, that is a fuck ton of mats to be selling on the AH each day and you will very soon come to Bliz attention, because it is kind of unnatural to be selling 200 stacks of something every day.

you might get $1 per 10K selling to a gold seller.

Been looking at prices for years and have never seen it this low, lowest I have seen is $0.33 per 1k to a gold seller.

I'm trying to make some $$ too, my plan is to make all the gold on a low/medium populated server and store it in a guild bank, when I reach maybe 1 million then transfer the bank to a realm where the gold is at it's highest, best thing is to have private buyers. I sold trade skill ups before at $60 per trade and got them done in one night, using the bot to farm most of the materials needs (most times people will take 2 trades) if they are happy with what you done then they tell friends and word of mouth get's you more business, I had several customers on one realm who then wanted to buy gold (undercut the main competitors slightly and you would still get $1.3 per 1k).
People like contact, I would speak to them on skype personally when trying to sell some service, takes time to find the custom at first but once you have had a couple you get more for the good job.

As with making gold, it's tough if just selling raw materials, I made sure to have every trade in the game including 3 x alchemists for all the mastery's and couple of JC's, so that I could work the farmed mats to it's highest selling potential, 1 bot account running about 12 hours per day over the past week has net me a minimum 50k per day just from working it all through the trades so far.

E.g Ore to JC, prospect, send rare gems to an alchemist to transmute Primal Diamond and use the leftovers to make the best current rings and necks, make rings, necklaces with the green gems, sell the blue proc ones and then DE the greens with an enchanter to then make the best selling enchants. Make some bars, transmute them to Trillium bar and sell those in stacks of 6 for the living steel buyers after making 3 yourself. Herbs to make flasks, inscriptions to mill and make some darkmoon cards....

Basically it takes work, but once you work it through trades you make a killing, it's worth it in the long run.

Only thing i can tell u bro is, figure out which sells most on ur realm and for the best price and farm that alot then sell ur gold to a site which buys gold for a fair amount of cash. ;]

how? I farm gold gatherbudy and I buy raf month time and sell it to frindes and other Irl pepole, aswell buying cd keys for wow gold and raf mount etc.

check out with a raf gametime seller they often sell many things that you can buy from gold and give to ppl Irl for money

Your first mistake is making a thread like this, there is tons of info out there already for you.

Also if you want to make it big you need tons of investment cash and a lot of experience helps, which will come with time.

Most people won't share their info and for good reason as well, but goodluck to you and I wish you all the best.

Its not possible to make 50$ in one week for a beginner.... I have 6 Accounts and 6 Sessions from Honorbuddy... I have all Skills and all classes... Before MOP i earn about 150€ in one month. But im not a beginner i think^^

Second tip for you: If you really want to get money... find some very cheap chinease and buy raf or Unmerged wow accounts and sell them. In my best 3 Days i made over 200€ with RAF and selling unmerged account. Im a student too and i can spend all chicks drinks xDD Hope i can help you a bit...
If you really want to made a lot of money with Gold selling, you need more accounts and more sessions.... and maybe... more Computers xDD

its all about growth imo. start samll and scale up.. use a large% of your profits into your bushiness growth let the business pay for itself dont go dropping heaps of cash at computers and keys ect you wil be overwhelmed. this way u can fine tune everything and the best tip i can give is to aim to be the website not to sell to the website

First thing I did was buy a PC that can run 40 bots, then I got a business internet connection with 4 IPs that I spread across my accounts. I also got a bunch of honorbuddy & other bot licenses... Now I have them all gathering mats (up to lvl 80 zones aka old zones + outland & northrend) that i'm selling quickly via tradeskill master, operating 6 accounts at a time manually, and I must say, it's hard work (currently running only 18 and it's becoming time consuming)!

Any tips to squeeze out extra value from this (the quality of my life really depends on this )? Selling raw mats is super lame, but I need as much automation as possible.

I think my next step should be addinct accounts with professions other than gathering skills, get MoPs and start processing the hell out of everything. Right now I'm just waiting for honorbuddy to work properly again, if it won't... well, I'll get up to 100 accounts and farm until they all get banned, but I'll make profit off the volume then.

It takes a little bit of money and a lot of time to get started, good luck!

you can buy gametime via recruit a friend from chinese sellers. costs about 6-10k gold depending on your server.

How much do you make?
I see people saying that you need a lot of accounts, and people making 200$ a month with 9 accounts, I think you can make that with only 1 account at the moment.
