Something going on with Saronite Ore??

Something strange is happening. A couple high end guild smiths on my servers are buying saronite ore by the 1000's... I just sold 4 guild tabs worth at 20g!!! a stack to a guy, and he wanted even more. They also wanted Borean Leather in the same quantities... Is there something changing soon. patch, cata expansion that would explain this?

I honestly have no idea.

why would you sell it for 20g a stack when you could have just vendored it for 25g a stack?

No idea, haven't heard anything. I don't see any new patterns or anything.

i too have noticed that people are paying more and in really really large quantities. Maybe they are stocking up for expansion with hopes that prices rise?

I've spoken to a few people who are holding on to saronite/cobalt for all the new worgen/goblins leveling profs. I think it's foolish, but it was a reasonable strategy when WOTLK came out.

I haven't checked the beta very much (yes I actually got a single invite out of all my accounts). But probably getting ready for that based on some 'pieced' together information. Like with Frozen orbs on a previous patch, people who got th einfo early stockpiled it...

I think it is based loosely on some theories for CATA, who knows until it is released what will really happen. Guess the new classes will need it for leveling quickly, saw some theory a guy did figuring if he had 4 guild tabs full of saronite and sold them for double the price now he would make 3500g, I can do that in roughly 8 hrs of botting with GB at the mommnet, so I won't be wasting money on new guilds and bank tabs, just go with the flow, nothing I can't harvest/mine/make myself anyways. Same theory about stock piling bags too, can't see the point myself.

A small sample; but anyway, i've noticed less saronite dropping during Storm Peak runs recently. Whereas I normally fill up a couple guild tabs quite easily, at the moment i'm sitting on 2 tabs of herbs and only about a half tab of saronite ore.

Me too, noticed the drop is Saronite there myself, maybe blizz has changed a few things ?
