Some questions before buying

Hello there!

You could know my nickname from the Honorbuddy forums since I've been botting for a while in WoW making nice cash from selling the gold. But now it's time to move on.

I have some questions to you, level 50 farmers and plat sellers. If you wish to keep your replies privately then feel free to send them to me in a message!

Do you use the auction house to sell your stuff or just vendor the "crap" and sell the plat earned from those?
Which sites do you use to sell your goods? I met some chinese, but I would like to get info about the trusted ones!
How much can you farm with this nice bot a day?I would farm 24/7.

And the last question, currently I run 5 WoW bots.
My computer spec: Intel quad core 2.6ghz, 4gb ram, 2x320gb sataII, gigabyte gtx 460
Would I be able to run +1 Rift? (WoWs are on lowest settings, windowed - the slowest window I could make ;P ) I can easily play 1080p movies meanwhile those bots run, or just play another game, or even play rift.

I would say it varies by server, but on my server it seems like prices on farmable things (eg silks and such) are actually at parity or even lower (!) at times than vendor merchant sell value. I have no idea why some people put things up on the AH at a lower price than the merchant sell value, but there are people out there doing it. You can buy it and resell it to a NPC yourself when it dips down that extreme though. If the server you pick is like that I'd recommend just selling to NPC, it's what I've been doing.

I chose a high population server, and unfortunately that means a lot of areas are generally too crowded for me to bot unattended. When I ran the south telara one though, and I didn't have others competing with me for mobs, I was only getting about 3-4pp an hour (mind you this was only for about 2 hours before suddenly I saw 3 others doing the same pathing as me so I stopped the bot). Supposedly you can get up to 8pp an hour doing that area, but I guess that's with better gear or better luck than I had. I'm still trying to find a nice spot to make a nonpublic profile that I can feel better about running without others running the same path as me.

1. I vendor all except the spellspun cloth, witchweave cloth and soulhide leather. Even Epics don't sell on AH.
2. You are on your own there.
3. GMs are very active and the Chinese who farm manually report you in a flash. If you plant farm a lot, make very long profiles that are uniquely yours. Since most of your platinum comes from grays, the paths can be almost anywhere. I know someone who farms level 44 mobs and gets 5 plat per hour but is able to go extra hours as there are not other farmers on the same spots.
4. 1 Rift = 2 WoW. Its far more load on your machine.

I farmed 1000's of Soft/Thick/Medium Hides.. i've sold about 2 stacks on the AH, bank is full of the stuff.. can't believe i am gonna have to vendor all that. Why is everyone so poor!

They aren't - its just crafting is badly designed and the low to medium level mats aren't worth auctioning.
 
The deposit on the AH is kind of crazy too, it REALLY makes you have to price so you are guaranteed a sell. When you risk losing 49gp just to list something that vendors for 80gp, and you only get your 49gp back if the auction is bought in 48 hours then that REALLY encourages you to price it where you think it'll surely sell.
 
So no one really need platinum to buy stuff/level professions ? botting for cash is then useless here :(

well, you still make nice money from vendoring the items, not like in wow
 
The main problem is : why do players need to buy platinum if the ah is worthless ? I mean,i only bot to make cash...if players do not need platinum to buy stuff like in wow all this is useless :(

I've often wondered the same. Demand for platinum is huge. My bots level and always have more than they can spend. What to platinum buyers spend it on? Raid repairs and potions perhaps?
 
Are there any exotic mounts,fashion stuff to buy like in wow ? Hawker do you really have huge demand for platinum ?
 
Yes zirconicus. The biggest thing I would imagine people are using their platinum on is mounts "100-125 plat", and dyes for their armor "just makes it look pretty" which vary quite a bit depending on color. Another thing is there are a ton of nice BOE gear that drop from teir 2 expert dungeons that sell from 100+ platinum. the reason the ah looks so dead is because those things don't last long in the ah. You gotta understand the people who buy platinum are lazy and are usually not worth a shit at the game so they have to buy ever piece of gear they can. The main reason i use the bot is to lvl my alts because why would i want to do the same stupid quests 4 times? All i want to do is raid. So while I sit in Green scale and the other raids killing bosses and having a great time, my little ryftomate friend is lvling my alts. :)

I bought the 1 year sub. Its not much money, and it saves me a hell of a lot of time and effort leveling characters.

Now I gotta learn how to play them :p
 
I actually don't want to play rift anymore :) Just earn some cash with it! :D

Thats like me an wow now, I only log in to check auctions and use allrounder plugin with hb to cycle some herbs into products to make more auctions.
 
Like me. Thinking of starting the same business here too. Wow is going down for the first time...
 
Looking at the $/plat prices I'm not sure it'll be worth my time farming plat to sell. It'll only get worse and its already pretty low :(
