Some questions about using VM to bot?

when I use VMware to bot,all is OK
BUT D3 becomes very slow when i use DB to run unless I shut down DB, it will be smooth.
How does this happened？

My computer :
E3-1230 V2
16g ram
128g ssd
NV 660

the situation now is when I use VM and DB to bot,only for 1 bot,it becomes very slow especially when combating.When I kill the DB and control the bot with myself，it will be smooth using the VMware.

I try to write the followings to .vmx

mainMem.useNamedFile=FALSE
MemTrimRate=0
prefvmx.minVmMemPct = "100"
prefvmx.useRecommendedLockedMemSize = "TRUE"
sched.mem.pshare.enable = "FALSE"

BUT it will be modified，accurately be deleted when I reboot the Virtual machine, so it seems doesnt work yet.



can someone help me？
 
as for the editing the .vmx, you should have gotten an error about MemTrimRate already being called *i did* but the others worked just fine. The lines dont disappear but others do populate under them, i put in this at the end of the file and ran the vm:
mainMem.useNamedFile=FALSE
prefvmx.minVmMemPct = "100"
prefvmx.useRecommendedLockedMemSize = "TRUE"
sched.mem.pshare.enable = "FALSE"

when i checked the vmx file after shutting down i found this underneath:
usb:0.present = "TRUE"
usb:0.deviceType = "hid"
usb:0.port = "0"
usb:0.parent = "-1"

Im having the same issue with lag, have you checked D3's video config and turned everything down?
only 1gb would cause D3 and db to crash so I just increased the ram to 2gb for each VM but it still uses 1.5 and spikes to 2gb. again DB makes the vm lagggg. Key point, my monk runs A3 inferno champion all day with maybe 1 death per 5 games but when i ran it on a vm it dies 9 times before 5 stacks. then again on the next game... its tooo laggy to bot.

I am running:
i7-3820 sandy bridge 3.6
16GB Dominator Platinum
120GB Vertex 3
x2 EVGA GTX 680
completely liquid cooled
Win7 & VM workstations 9

VM's are configured:
1 core
2gb ram
5gb drive
had to install .net4 and c++

yes, I have checked the video settings,all was set to be the lowest. Have you slove the problems？how do you use to run more than 1bot now？
 
tell me what your vm machine settings are, particularly the processor
I think i solved the problem by adding 2 cores to the single processor
Memory=2gb *uses 1.16 on average*
Processor=1 w/ 2 cores
HD 5GB

now im up to 1.22GB of ram after restarting the machine running now for about 5minutes
 
I set the vitual machine for 1 core only,memory 2gb.


I think i will test for 2 cores,it means i cannt run for more than 4 bots?
 
when you set the processor for 1 and cores for 2 it doesnt actually use 2 cores of your processor. I am able to run perfectly with 2 cores *not including this memory problem*
I am now @ 1.54GB used ram and getting "Close programs to prevent information loss" message from the virtual machine

I am able to write to the .vmx file and it doesnt disappear, try copying the information to the bottom of the file and start/stop the vm to see what happenes. If you can run the VM and you dont get errors on starting then it is deleting the copied text every time

to fix the VMware diablo lag while DB is running change the priority of Diablo.exe to HIGH

press Ctrl + Alt + Insert while inside the VMware window if you are using VM Workstation 8 (it is the same as ctrl alt del but only performs the function inside the vmware window) than right click on diablo.exe, set priority, high. lag gone.

I think it have been sloved completely
But in additional, how can I set the priority of Diablo.exe to HIGH with every WIN7 starting?
Now I have to set it every time,i think it is a little complex ：）
 
Setting the priority helped alot!
you can set this permanently with Prio Prio - Priority Saver
HOWEVER! i still find the video laggs if D3 is not the active window. make sure D3 is selected and in front of the other windows and it runs fine

I had the same problem when I started using VMware. I could play the game just fine, but when I tried to bot it made D3 run at like 3-5 frames per second. Try setting the D3 process in task manager to above normal or higher. That's all it took to fix my issue.
