I use WinDirStat - to see which files are being used and their respective sizes. always have your folders unhidden AND run it as Administrator.

I found that it was a fle called "windows.edb" that was taking a lot of memory (gigabytes of memory!). To delete it, just a quick Google search will show you how to do it (unsure how it's done on Windows 10, sorry, but basically, you'll stop a few services, delete and rebuild the index)
It's not as painful as it sounds
