Because Hardcore gold is harder to farm. If you die, your gold farmer is gone.

I told you. Hardcore toons are different than Softcore (aka Normal) toons because once a Hardcore toons dies in game, it gets deleted. So people that farm Hardcore are fewer and further in between since most people do not want the risk of losing their farming toon and having to start over from scratch due to bad RNG mob spawns. Basic economic. Less supply(less bots) and equal demand = higher prices.
