Playing league of legends and I tab back into wow to check my swamp of sorrows grind for an oozling, I have a whisper.
"Bot?"
I replied 20seconds after it sent, thank god.
but the kid isnt convinced, so he tells me he's reporting me for using honorbuddy grundbot, its obvious that im using it and he wants me banned.
It was obvious because HB's loot system is still all fucked up and sends my char back and forth between mobs to loot regardless of the plug in I use.

My question is how viable do you see his report, like will my bot account receive a ban? even when I was at my computer and responded promptly?

also it was creepy how he know what I was using, ex botter gone straight?

if he knows what specific bot your using, hes obviously a botter himself.

But then why report me? i mean the rare pet market isnt something to corner, idk it just seemed dickish

Oh, also he said something along the lines of 'when blizzard gets my report of your char name they will just scan your computer and it will show that honorbuddy is running'

Illegal to scan outside of your process, correct?

It just seemed pretty ridiculous for this random guy to bother me farming oozlings, and know all the details of the bot, not to mention the threats to scan my system and everything,

No botting on that account till panda hits

Stay online but at keyboard. If a GM talks to you, make something up about how that guy has been harassing you since you won something he wanted in a loot roll, or is an ex-friend irl ...etc
Maybe if they believe he's just trying to lie to get you in shit because of some petty dispute they will drop it.
I'm sure it happens on a regular basis that non-botters accuse other non-botters of botting out of spite, trying to get them in shit/suspended.

Or turn it around and say 'What are all those things he accused me of?' and ask the GM about all the HB terms and details he brought up. Play ignorant. Make him look like the botter.

I doubt a GM would even talk to you, if they determine you are a botter then they ban you. All you have to do is appeal the ban and tell them that the game is set up for mindlessly grinding crap. If someone whispers you just ban the retard.

yeah, I just got nervous. Ive never been banned on that acct anyways so. I did however get banned using mimicbot on my main act, it was soooo bugged.

I just add them to ignore list immeditaly unless i know they are near me (cant send reports unless you talk or are targeted), but also i dont join conversations that are about botting or gold selling cuz it could possibly get you auto flagged imo.. I believe the gm will also look at his account too and see him botting as well so dont worry about it, even if you stop botting until panda that doesnt mean gm cant go back and look at your history.. id just try not to bot when hes on to avoid being harassed cuz u dont want him alerting other people, 1 report aint gonna do anything imo.

They still do it though

For one this guy is surely a hb user and a first class ass bag to boot. I have several friends who are gm's irl and i hear all the time of these kinds of reports. The majority of the time that u are reported and banned is when a gm actually observes you botting. Give it a few days of playing manually and you should be fine. If the gm doesnt witness u doing shit then it will be dropped and the ticket is instantly closed after he addresses the ticket. On the flip side, probably not a good time to afk bot with the current state of the bot. My 2 cents

ok, ty for responces. Seemed a wierd thing to go out and look for botters to report, i figured he was like an ex botter who got banned and was grieving idk

The only reason we get banned is due to obvious botting, I'm sure blizz know who's botting and they don't care we put money in their pockets, they don't want to lose paying subscribers (especially with multiple accounts)... but if you make it obvious they will make an example out of you, if they really wanted to they could make it even harder and enforce some sort of punkbuster type service (to scan and detect cheats) and as long as you accept the eula so to speak, it's legal.

Wow isn't a one time payment FPS. lol (cough bf3)

Make a mental note that a GM can just look up all the logs between both users and see what was said.

I noticed a guy who was botting in the same area as me, we were both on the same routes, going to the same pools, he was the only person in the area (obviously I was afk then came back to notice us both fighting over the same fish pools), this 85 logs out a level one then whispers me "you have one minute to answer me are you botting? if you do not respond I will report you", I remained botting just changed my routes and never was banned, some other botters will probably just bluff you so they can hog the zone them selves and won't report you as they know they could possibly cop a ban as they may be investigated them selves, as sometimes you here botters that report other botters are the ones that tend to get banned them selves, I did make sure to whisper that guy and sound like a noob and ask what is a bot? then I told him please stop harassing me I really don't know what your on about please let me play the game in peace and welcome to my ignore, as a GM might view the logs of whispers between you both, also to note I did have both names on my friends list to see when that guy/girl logged out and the other in to work out or not if it was the same guy/girl, from what I saw the level one was his/her banking toon.

I mean he obviously botted because of how in depth his knowledge was, so it makes sense it was a bluff to get me out of the area

^^Exactly right:) Though they would be silly to implement such a feature they would loose heaps of players, we have to put them selves in their shoes from a business perspective each and every person is a number filling their wallets that is all they care about not some whiny whingey players they deal with on a day to day basis, they want peace the same as most of us, if they keep hearing reports from you they will set an example to keep people happy and of their own case. I have had a lot of name changes server changes, which they love the $$, they review all that most likely and see if your worth keeping or perma banning etc, there is a few factors involved here. A player that has reported you may have one account where is you have three, would that be wise to get rid of a person who is paying them more nope, you do not bite the hand that feeds you! they won't admit it but that one guy they probably will not care about, where is if many other accounts report you they would be wise to slam down on you, as that is more accounts to your select few.

The report is worth rat droppings - especially since you replied to the whisper. Just report him for reporting you and move on...

Generally a lot of people now, just use the quick report system and put you down for 'Cheating'. This is quite good, because it is not specific as such as 'Botting', so quite easy to blag your way out of it. I have been reported few times mainly for using the SuperGuildInvite, but nothing has come of it. As long as your a decent paying customer, they won't touch you, unless you over do it. But they give you as many chances as possible.

Like people said just make up some story about this guy.
