So how many does it take to constitute a "ban wave"? Looking at ban forums

Seems like more than usual for sure, but how many more pages are needed to be an official ban wave I wonder?

its a banwave when you see 1000's of post on the forums saying they got perma banned.
 
well, first off, they need to be BANS, not SUSPENSIONS.

Now, quit stiring collective hysteria
 
I think all Blizz did is hire an intern to look over suspiscious logs that have repetitive behaviour or people playing over a typical amount of hours. They have no real proof we are botting because we would be perma banned, which is why all the suspensions.
 
you're right, but its not an intern, its called software, and they've allways done it, but it seems like theres a lot of newbie botters running around like chickens with their head choppped.

and i dont mean to disrespect the noobs, its just the way it is
 
I know, I was joking about them hiring an intern... no way even 100 people could actively look over 8+ million account logs for irregularities
 
when it's banwave bli? communicates on it : like glider days banwave and one last year from what I've read?
 
Banwave you can detect really easy:

1) Over 1.000 Users online in the Forum
2) The Forum gets really slow
3) you can not read all that new messages popping up, and the one you read is already on page 10
 
What i find funny is that blizzard are basically saying i don't like the look of you so your "Suspended"

You would know if there was a banwave. Every banwave when glider was around would KILL their servers for a day or tow, not even joking. You couldn't get to the website, at all.

People get banned all the time, the only difference between the last few days and the last month, is people are actually reporting their bans. When all you see on the new thread feed is "banned" over and over and over, you will know.
 
He uses the word "banwave" (As an example) and he doesn't get his thread deleted and get an infraction also? Neat guys.

In case of a banwave, how do u handle this? Turn of the auth servers so nobody can bot anymore? Does this affect anything?
 
you guys do know blizzard can also divide the number of people per day so that they make you feel safe and get you later. something is always up when there is more than usual people getting actioned you cant deny that....
