I'm just going to rewrite the entire ret pally (and likely prot/holy too) rotations. If you wanna gimme a detailed rotation (or link to one in the other thread) I'll be more than happy to reimplement it properly.
Most of the issues you're talking about, were introduced while I was busy with other internal projects with HB.
I'll be doing quite a bit of cleanup. That includes removing entire rotations if they're not up to snuff.
Here it goes:
Paladin Rotation:
The Ret paladin "rotation" is priority based. The priority for single-target is one of the following:
Highlevel gear: Inquisition > Crusader Strike > Hammer of Wrath > Exorcism > Templar's Verdict > Judgement > Holy Wrath > Consecration
Low level gear: Inquisition > Crusader Strike > Templar's Verdict > Hammer of Wrath > Exorcism > Judgement > Holy Wrath > Consecration
Against Undead/Demons the positions of Hammer of Wrath and Exorcism swap, providing:
Highlevel gear: Inquisition > Crusader Strike > Templar's Verdict > Exorcism > Hammer of Wrath > Judgement > Holy Wrath > Consecration
Low level gear: Inquisition > Crusader Strike > Exorcism > Hammer of Wrath > Templar's Verdict > Judgement > Holy Wrath > Consecration
The fact that Exorcism auto-crits when used on Undead or Demons and its faster scaling causes it to pull ahead of Hammer of Wrath in that scenario.
In both scenarios you do not perform a Crusader Strike if you have 3 Holy Power, however if you have 2 or less Holy Power and a Divine Purpose (talent) proc you would use
the Crusader Strike before the free TV.
Inquisition increases Holy Damage when it is up. Modeling and testing shows to begin expecting to refresh at 3 seconds before it ends. You will rarely have Inquisition
expire and those occasions when it does it should only be missing for 2-3 seconds.
In melee range:
Never, ever cast Exorcism - only use Exorcism when it is instant from an Art of War(talent) proc.
If Art of War(talent) has not procced, then Exorcism has a cast time, mana cost, and vastly reduced damage. Remember during a cast you stop and reset all autoattacks.
If out of melee range (phase transition/funny-business):
Use Judgement if you can. Without Art of War(talent) Exorcism drops below Judgement. If Judgement is on CoolDown, spam cast Exorcism as mana permits. Do not overcommit on
Exorcism mana usage - ensure you have sufficient mana to use Judgement for mana regen and Crusader Strike as soon as you reach target.
Multiple Target
The AoE rotation is rather similar to single-target, simply replace Crusader Strike with Divine Storm. The rest of the priority stays the same.
With Holy Wrath fixed to meteor properly, at 3 targets you should begin using Consecration over Holy Wrath.
Zealotry!! important!! (Its best to use Zealotry whenever its off cooldown for max dps!)
Zealotry (talent/ability) provides a special circumstance.
During Zealotry all Crusader Strike earn 3 Holy Power. Your rotation will become:
Crusader Strike, Templar's Verdict, Filler, or Crusader Strike, Filler, Templar's Verdict, as we still use 2 fillers between Crusader Strike.
With current values for Hammer of Wrath and Exorcism they may be used over a Crusader Strike or Templar's Verdict during Zealotry (see priorities above). Continue to follow your core priority sequence in and out of cooldowns. Zealotry does not alter your priority sequence, it just gives you more Templar's Verdict to socket in there.
