Is unholy or frost best for PVE in Cata? i just tested before update and did more damage with frost now that its updated will unholy be better (DW or 2H) also suggested spec would be good for PVE and PVP to make best use of the CC
 
Pros with new version: Yes, alot more dps.

Cons: Doesn't attack anything unless pet is out and even when it is he is just jumping around alot (anytime he is mounted i have to unmount).

I would go with frost, unholy just isn't doing a lot of damage anymore untill high GS's, even then a bot can't keep up to what a human can do

Haven't tested the new rotations with a dummy yet and as for PvP I need to lvl my bot to 85 before I can say anything about that.

Mines not moving into enemys as it it will move then when the cc is supposed to move in and kill it wont move and i have to manually move to attack the mob (testing in frost)
also having movement issues when it will run not towards the target ect, also for some reason wont attack dragons when they fly in the air

Yeah looks like I broke moving to melee range again, try 0.8.2
BTW. frost looks like it has has the shortest ramp-up time so probably the fastest for grinding.

The frost aoe rotation needs a little work, hopefully I can have that done tomorrow.

fede loving the changes. Just my personal feedback from mixed mode.

Could you put in some ghouls. dancing rune weapon and proc death coil more often for pve/pvp for blood spec. Also could we see use of festering strike on chains of iced targets in pvp?

Also a few more face target checks, getting alot of facing the wrong way in pvp?

Also ay way to make sure the character attacks mobs that are attacking things like the ghoul or bloodworm (if it range aggors them first bot simply stands there till the mob kill the bloodowrm/ghoul)

I can't understand why someone would speak negatively of a work in progress. If the rotations and priorities aren't right, then supply information to the creator so that the proper rotations can be coded instead of saying how bad it is, or how poorly it works, or talk about how much better one CC is over the other. It just doesn't make sense, really.

I know EJ isn't the Bible, or even the end all of class guides, but it seems to be the one that one of the better CCs uses (ShamWoW), so I took approximately 20 seconds and looked up DKs on EJ and pasted the appropriate, up-to-date links for each spec. Wasn't hard. It may even provide some information for all DK CC developers. I've also posted this over in the Cimmerian DK thread to assist with development and improvement, so this may be a repeat read to some, or all, of you and I apologize for that.

I know I'm just spouting rubbish in most everyone's eyes, but I just get tired of everyone bashing one CC or another instead of trying to assist in the improvement and development.
 
Uploaded 0.8.3 which should fix alot of the range issues and provide very solid DPS in Frost 2H, which is the recommended leveling spec by Elitistjerks.

Didn't see Ej had updated their guides, thanks zeldrak.

PvP issues will have to wait till I have a lvl 85 DK, so I can test with battlegrounds.
Don't expect blood spec to be tweaked for dps, it just plain sucks for dps.
 
I am currently using this CC as a level 80 Blood DK with average Item Level of 220. I am leveling in Uldum, killing the crocs around the river. They have three levels on mke and this CC has no problem taking care of a couple of them at a time if I get an add

No problem at all, mate. I'd rather help get things updated than to sit and watch people piss and moan about how bad something is, or how much better one thing is over another. I believe that all the CCs should get equal praise. That's just me. So, since I spend time on EJ reading posts about theory crafting and such, I'll let you know when things get updated.

And, it's true that blood does stink for DPS, but I like to use it to level over any of the other specs. It has tons of survivability in it. It's a trade off between speed and living. Sacrifice the speed aspect to gain more survivability aspect. If you don't mind down time then take frost or unholy, but if you want strong and steady, then stick with blood. That's my opinion anyway. :D
 
I'm not so sure blood is the fastest, currently I am grinding the Scions in Uldum as lvl 83 with zero downtime as Frost 2H.
But if you can give me a grinding priority list for Blood I'd be happy to implement it, I imagine almost anything is better than the raid tanking priorities from EJ.

Now it often wont get close enough to a mob and just stand there doing nothing, but did fix the bug in votex pinicle with the dragons on the upside :)

I just got home, so I haven't updated just yet, but in answer to your question I think it could stand to dump a little RP more frequently. I sit at 100 RP for a very long time during fights, and sometimes I find myself spamming Rune Strike and Death Coil manually just to drop some while the bot does its thing. Other than that it really seems that it's working just fine to me. Just my thoughts.

frost is extremely viable for levelling if you swap out obliterate for death strike. and make use of the summon ghoul + death pact combination.
 
I still had a movement issue with my Blood Elf Death Knight it would stop moving at 4 yards and spam something along the lines:
[8:32:14 AM:840] [SimpleDK]: Moving to melee range 3 yards from target, current distance = 4 yards.

I just modified the pull file with "const float meleeDistance = 4f;". It was 3f before and now it seems to work flawlessly. Hope it helps. It might have been due to the fact that blood elfs have a smaller hitbox or something similar, not really sure.

Was getting it with a human dk as well bro.
 
Think I finally found the cause of the range issues, try 0.8.5 and let me know if there are still problems.
Unholy rotation holds it's own again as well, doing decent dps.

Didn't swap, but I put it in as a very high priority if health falls below 80% and then only every 5 seconds. Same in Unholy.
