On hardcore that is ;-)

I died today due to a very silly mistake. I was testing mp10 on hell and before I was going out I wanted to start my usual botting. Loaded act 1 inferno, pressed start and didn't look at my screen. Guess what? Because I was too distracted with other things I forgot to put it back to mp0. 2mins later I checked my screen and saw my WD dead in the menu screen. Paragon 19 and around 25mil worth of gear. Bad luck.

My simple suggestion is as following:

If a MP is set to 1 till 10 give a confirmation pop up after pressing the start button:

"Monsterpower is currently set to MP10. Are you sure you want to continue?" [yes] [no]

Make the feature optional with a checkbox to put it on/off because I realize softcore botters don't really need it ;-)

Normally I don't make this mistake and I'm lucky to have lost only 25mil and around 130 hours of botting time and some epic items were stash thank god. It could have been way worse :-)

I'm actually surprised we don't have more on-screen notifications. For example, instead of having to look into the db window to see the log, or the current moveTo or leaveGame etc command, it would be nice if it just wrote it to the diablo window.
The "starting game handicap:10" message would appear on screen perhaps if we had this diagnostic area in game.

R.I.P.

but shit happens.. guess you'd need double attention when doing stuff on hardcore.

//also i don't think we need all this suggested stuff. would melt my brain if i had to click notifications a zillion times every day.

The notification pop up in DB would be enough in my case. Ingame you see the mp level in the right corner. I didn't look at my screen at all once I pressed the start button.

Ideally it would pop up before or after the "select combat routine" pop up.

If it's not too hard to implent could save many lives ;-)

Ofcourse make it optional so people who don't want to see the popup can switch it off :-)

or you can be like a normal functional human being and check your own settings before running the bot.

didn't your mother ever teach you to look before you leap.

Sorry for your loss, but it is, your loss. Botting on HC is not something you should really be doing without paying very close attention.

Your toon dying is just a "derp" that happens once in a while. Adding a popup to tell you what MP you're using, will do nothing but annoy users (and ourselves). Just pay attention next time.

Yes please provide extra utility for .1% of DB users at a cost of time, energy, programming and CPU usage. Because everyone who uses DB uses it for hardcore progression and not softcore profit...

Thanks for your kind comment. We have all make silly mistakes now and then. Remember this was merely a suggestion. No need to feel so butthurt. You're only making a fool out of yourself.

Read my line:

"If it's not too hard to implent could save many lives ;-)"

What is wrong with you people? Take a chillpill.

What we really need, is the MP to be set by the profile, not the bot. Problems solved.

Lets be honest, it sucks that you lost your toon and anyone that has played any hardcore understands this.

However you 100% lost it due to dumb user error (not an insult just the truth)

Especially botting with hardcore, you check your char and all your settings, than you check them again, and than when your finished you check them all over again just to make sure you didnt forget/skip/change anything. After that you watch the bot for at least 3+ full runs to make sure things go smoothe and theres no issues.

Your first mistake was not checking your setting thorougly.
Your BIGGEST mistake was not watching it for a while after you started it.
