Hi folks,

Same issue that's filled up the Support page so far in that Honorbuddy won't completely open.

What I've done so far is set WoW to x86 in the launcher, created a shortcut on the desktop and added a command to force WoW to open in x86 to cover all possibility of it opening in x64, set it to DX9, and done a fresh install.

I've had a look in the 'known applications which can cause problems' thread and while I have a few potential offenders, there's nothing new running from when I used to use HB 3-4 years ago.

I'm stumped.

Cheers.

Hi, Mikchi,

Your log indicates otherwise:
[17:52:20.531 D] System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception (0x80004005): A 32 bit processes cannot access modules of a 64 bit process.

First, let's try running this tool with Windows administrator privileges:
The Wizard will show has having a virus, but that's a false positive due to bad AV heuristics.

If no joy, this article wil tell you how to confirm a 32-bit client is in use:

Please show us proof of a 32-bit client in use, and show us a fresh log where you are using a 32-bit game client.

cheers,

Hello,

I've ran the Dependency Wizard, recreated a shortcut with the -noautolaunch64bit although I already had one, and changed the game to x86 via the launcher again as I've been playing today already.

Screenshot of the game after opening via the Honorbuddy Launcher:

wow32bit.webp

Honorbuddy sat for a minute then closed itself.

Hello,

The only program on that list I didn't have on my old PC is Geforce Experience as I had an AMD GPU before.

I've added the Honorbuddy folder to my Antivirus' blacklist folder, and in the meantime closed down Geforce Experience.

Honorbuddy is doing the same thing: closing after ~15 seconds.

I had a look at the log for the run and it's identical to the one in the last post.

I've closed down Afterburner and tried again. I seem to remember Afterburner causing difficulties, but my memory is fuzzy as the last time I used Honorbuddy was about 3-4 years ago.

I'm giving up. I only wanted to get it running to do my Draenor Angler achievement but I suppose I'll do it by hand as this is giving me a headache.

Thanks for the help, anyhow.

Hi again, Mikchi,

Your problem is probably Afterburner. It causes problems with a LOT of programs (including Steam). "Closing it down" is not an appropriate way to deal with the problems it causes. Our article explictly calls it out, and how to possibly work around it. If the work-around doesn't work, you'll need to uninstall it.

The 'interfering programs' list is not to be taken lightly. Each program on it has earned its position on the list many times over, and been confirmed (many times) to interfere with Buddy bot operation.

cheers,
