*sigh*
I said we'd start working on support for Win8 when it hit RTM availability on technet (the 15th of August for those of you who seem to be completely ill-informed of the dates). That's 10 days ago. Apparently, 10 days is a month somewhere. Where exactly that is, I have no idea.
@jinny; Enjoy your vacation. You can come back in 2 weeks once you've settled down a bit, and start showing some respect to the staff members here. I'm tired of reading your posts of nothing but flaming and ranting. Had you read any of the explanations on stability in the current DB releases, you'd see quite a few times where we've stated we know about some issues, and others aren't actually our fault. (There was a stability issue in one plugin, which I won't name, which has been fixed for a few days now)
Windows 8 isn't going to be widely available to consumers till late October, or even mid November. We don't have any pressing need to add this support *right now*. It will be done within the next week or so, so keep your panties on and wait.
FYI jinny; since you seem to know more about our workload than we do, why not give me a rough estimate on how long the following will take:
- Localization support to DB
- Updating HB/GB for MoP (including the required hours of reversing to ensure everything works "out of the box" as it has been for a while now)
- Reversing D3 to ensure all our stability issues are addressed.
- Fixing the current 20 or so bugs that we're aware of, and consider "high priority" in DB
- Going over roughly 120k lines of code in DB, 280k lines of code in HB, ~110k lines of code in BW to ensure we make all the necessary changes for Win8 support
- Do all our performance testing on Win8 to ensure it runs stable, and doesn't break due to new API changes brought with the new OS.
- Add support for DirectX 11 with our hooking system, to ensure anti-cheat's don't get your accounts banned.
- Keep up with support for all of our users (and developers)
- Handle the current two lawsuits we're fighting, to ensure our customers still have a bot to use.
- Answer posts like yours.
When you have a rough estimate time-frame, feel free to let us know.
