I have been here for some time now, and i thought i wanted to share a funny story with you.

Yesterday i found my self botting in Sholazar, i must have been grinding the same spot for hours, and i was suddently whispered, luckily i was near the pc so i responded.

Him: Are you botting?
Me: Yes! :D
Him: ohh, i just had to ask, you have grinded here for hours.
Him: but thats just good for me, more to skin ;)
Me: Was just trying to get that damn ring quest done (http://www.wowhead.com/quest=12624)
Him: Should have dropped by now?
Me: ye, think the quest i bugged, think i'll skip it :S
Him: Ye, you should try to abandon and take it again.
Me: ye thanks, will try that :D
Him: Cya
Me: cya ^^

Ofc, i logged out for 2 hours, then logged back in and startet grinding again :D
Was not doing any quests at all, but atleast he didn't leave the wiser ^^

Please share some of your funny/close calls, allways funny to see what we can learn form each other :)

I don't know wheter this is a funny moment or not but I'm gonna share it anyways:
(WALL OF TEXT, hopefully a little easier on the eyes now)

The other day after a few hours of grinding I was getting ready for bed and I just wanted to create some auctions selling some eternal fire that I had stored. The day before I noticed that the price for an eternal fire was around 18ish gold a piece. I looked at the cheapest eternal fire and it was on around 10-11g and I was like, wth and decided not to sell any eternal fires that night. As I was looking through the pages I quickly noticed how the pages weren't stopping and the stacks didn't get any higher than 5 and all from the same seller, it turns out that this moron had 291 auctions of eternal fire, all consisting of 5 eternals on the auction house for 10-11g per eternal. This sums up to around 1450 eternals in total and as this completely crashed the market and stuff I decided to report him and go to bed. I woke up the next day and surprisingly there was no eternal fires at the auction, at all, and I quickly got lots of eternals on :) Didn't take more than an hour to sell all my 40 eternal fires for 25g each! Talking about profit :D So it ended up with me earning lots of gold, even though I coulda earned alot more just buying the eternals but I didn't know how blizzard would respond and I really didn't want to end up with tons of eternals and nowhere to dump it. What I find funny is that people both sold their eternals for under 11g (not talking about the crazy bot guy, but the people who actually undercut him) and how people are buying overpriced eternals because they're in a rush or just because they can't wait those few hours it takes to get the price down, God I love GB.

Thats just loooooow....

Yeah when that stuff happens i just buyout his auctions and all auctions below me to keep market prices high. Yeah it uses a lot of gold but depending how much you got undercut by, you make <x> amount of gold profit every auction so w/e.

It would take ages to re-sell those 1450 eternal fires... it just won't work.
And by the time you're half close to sell half of them, he would've farmed even more >_>

Besides, if he didn't report him. someone else who farms them "legally" would've. no legal player can farm that much >_>

I'm totally against reporting other bots. but when it comes to crashing the market, that just means they're too dumb to use the bot.
Don't bot hard. Bot smart :D

I dont mean to be a killjoy on this topic, but reporting him was totally out of order. You haven't considered is that he did a server transfer, scoped you server and say that fires sell well etc and a few other items brought them with him, but mass flooded (dumb to be sure), but you cant carry gold only a full bank of sell-able items.

All is fair in love and Warcraft!

I didn't mean in this situation where he posted over 1400 auctions, but if it was like 25+

I deleted an item accidently and wrote a ticket. Normally it takes 24h on my server for a respong. So i decided to watch tv and let the bot farm some battlegrounds. 2 hours later I gone to my PC and saw that i got some whispers from a GM, and my ticket was rdy to be taken. Then i watch my char. Above my char I saw the GM following my char through the battleground. I was a bit afraid in this moment :D. So I answered the GM that my little brother was playing without me knowing while i watched tv. the GM said he whispered me half an hour ago and that its against the rules to let my brother play and he has to do something about it(suspend me). But he wanted to undelete the item first. meanwhile we talked a bit about wow, and at the end of the talk he forget about my brother :)

Wow, you're tough aren't you... hope you get a taste of your own medicine.

No, wrong, I don't normally report botters or undercutters but when you paste 1450 eternals for 48 hours 10gold below the normal price, I'd take action. If it was a normal undercut and a normal amount of eternals I would never had reported him, but whos gonna buy 1450 eternals?

EDIT: FYI I reported him for crashing the market, nothing else. If it makes any diffrence :P

You opened a ticket....and continued to bot in BG ??
I'd say you were VERY LUCKY. Sounds like account suicide to me lol

it makes no difference whatsoever... you reported someone for doing something that pissed you off.
While in fact he/she is just playing the market.. it's not uncommon to push people out of a market by mass posting loads of undercut products.
Instead of reacting to it in a normal way, you reported him/her..

as I said before, I hope someone returns you the favor... you are entitled to it.
Have a nice day.

sorry but i'm going to have to agree with mezz0 on this. reporting another botter is low. same as reporting a bot in "your spot". i wish boss would ban people that admit to doing that shit. permaban.

Guys come on, first of all, yeah it's unlikely hes legit but we don't know wheter he was a bot or not. Crashing the market is clearly as far as I know against the rules, something about exploiting the economy. As already stated, if I didn't report it, someone else would or already had. And no matter what, it's absurd to post that amount of eternals, it's just plain dumb if you ask me. Same as farming 24/7, people will notice you, botters and non botters. If I hadn't somebody else woulda for sure. Overpopulated realms.... It's not like I report bots, theres a difference here. I might have been a little rushy on reporting but to me it seems like he asked for it

You guys ragging on kagekongen are living in a fantasy world. You are pretty naive to think that a fellow botter wouldn't, in a heartbeat, report you just to get you out of the way. The world isn't all double rainbow and chocolate rain, so don't act like it is.

Exactly, thank you. It's not like the guy cared for me or anyone else on the server when he decided to "play" the AH or earn lots of gold quick.

Not a success story of such but something that made me giggle. Basically i was debating on that very day about a month ago of getting HB but didn't at the time just thinking about it, but i decided to play wow manually (I know actually play the game wtf!) and joined wsg basically our team were winning then all of a sudden a horde 41 shammy grabs our flag and runs back to base so i chased him as he got to horde Grave yard he exploits the game and ends up in the sawmill (Yep not on it, but in it lol) this really wound me up as i had no idea hw he did it at the time. basically they won the game in the end 3-1 making me really frustrated and suffering from the symptom called "NERD RAGE!".
So i join another wsg and warn my team hes cheating and he's also in this bg! but one rogue whispers me saying "he is not cheating" and im like i can prove it and show him he is cheating and then he says "you want to know something im not really cheating its more of an exploit" and rant on again saying this horde player is cheating then i stop and relize he said "I'm" and before i reply he say's that horde is me lol.
So at that time im furious and confused but the thing that got me is what he says next "you know what i need a sh*t, so im gonna switch my bot on" and he did. i instantly lol myself into tears and reply back to him saying "Your sir are a legend! and i will not report you at all because i want to bot as well and you have convinced me!" and we just left it at that but they lost the game and we won his bot ran in random directions lol!

I can actually see the funny side of it and this is why i never report no one anymore unless i get hacked lol!
