Sense of Botting (Gold) after RMAH release! Gold is worhtless. Tell your opinion!

You are so ridiculous, let's have a go at real electricity component shall we?

321 Watt <-- this is the number an i7 (very efficient ) with a gtx 560 will consume per hour, just playing crysis. The biggest amount of voltage will be drain by the CPU, so let's hope here, that crysis is CPU intense or I would be even worse off.

In germany 1 kilowatt hour costs 0,22 ?. those 321 Watt are 0,321 kWatt so we do:

0,321*0,22*24*30,4375 for an average month = 51,58 ? Without monitor, which you might want. So yes, very very cheap and while you have your imaginary 300$, i have the very real 600? per year.

So now let's go further with your assumption of 1$=1 million and just say 1? = 1 million to keep currencies consistent.
A sale of 1 million would generate me as shown earlier after blizzard and paypal 0,51 ? ( to be fair sales of 2 million/3/4 would be more profitable due to paypal eating a large chunk as it is even more in europe btw )

4 accounts on that PC, let's assume 300k per hour per account therefor generate 1.2 million gold per hour.

1,2/hour * 24 * 30 = 864 millions per month not counting maintenance, malfunctions to compensate for the earlier unfairness of assuming we always sell in stacks of 1 mil.

I also assume a so heavily botted account will vanish after a month and add another purchase(not counting the rebuy of goldgear)

Assuming 45? per copy: that's 180 ? additional cost, we also don't deduct the releveling time here so now let's put it all into a number:

864million gold will be 864*0,51? on our paypal: 440?
-180? for repurchase: 260
-51? electricity ( btw this is more then 10% of what we would actually earn, so much to "little"): 209?.

If you now start to deduct goldcost for new gear and days of releveling, maintenance and stuff that number will shrink(while for maintenance your electricity would also drop to 1/3 during that duration if we assume complete idling.

So actually calculating in favor of profits, it would be time to say doomsday when we hit 1:1 ratio. Especially when they start to catch faster then 1/month.

Edit for eddie: Of course that calculation holds nothing for now. It is worth way more. I just wanted to point out, that it won't automatically stay profitable just because it is automatically generated.

From what i heard (also playing from EU so RMAH is not out yet), the minimum price of gold is 2.5$. So that should be around 2?, minimum price per million gold. That should double your 209?, make it 400?, to round it up. Each account can hold 3 bots at the same time (EU, US, Asia), but let's just use 2 EU and US. So you get 400? for the EU accounts and 350? for the US accounts (since you will be selling the gold on US to Chinese people). So from 209? we went to a more interesting sum of 750?. Worth it? One day, yeah sure. Especially since you can double that sum by just buying another computer and putting a little more effort in it.

No, it's not worth botting with 1 account on 1 realm to make a profit.

By the time the gold price drops to a minimum (2
? per mil), the DB bots will be heavily ironed and ready to bot AFK 24/7.

I'm quite sure that gold will go below 2 euros per mill, way below actually, unless I'm wrong and that's the restriction on gold via rmah or something but honestly take a look at wow, that game is utterly destroyed and gold is like $0.20/mill, botting is way more public nowadays, due to word of mouth of botting "heroes" who have made a living off games more people have got themselves into the "scene", word of mouth is incredibly powerful, combined with the fact that money always talks.

Let's not forget people who don't bot either are going to be competing with value of thing's too, people who have never sold shit on any game, they're going to compete with everyone due to how public this thing is and the first of its kind.

We'll see though, been botting for 5-6 years now and playing the market, should be interesting and a whole new take of things.

US RMAH has it's cap at 2.5$/mil. That's the minimum, or at least it was so stated earlier. Can we get a confirmation for this?

You've to count from 2.5 eur blizz takes 15%.. and paypal another 15%..

So the seller will always receive atleast minimum 1,80€ which is way more than the turd theorycrafting few posts up with his 1€/1mil.

Good topic. I check this morning, and all good items are now on RMAH, and better items are selling for +30 million gold....I was like WTF, this for real?!?!

And how do you make people buy YOUR gold, when there is pages of pages full of 2.5/mil?

And again, I just picked up 1$/mil as an example to proof my point, that at 1$/mil it is barely profitable. Not that it is that price now, nor if it will be.

However enjoy going toe to toe with china farmes that will just spam the RMAH with pages full of 2.5/mil. I am quite excited to see how much volume will be generated on the RMAH

Botting is ALWAYS worth it.

If gold drops to 1€/$ per 1000k, go and concentrate on items. With better and better gear and some nice farm spots in inferno act 1 and patch 1.3 you get awesome ilvl 63 stuff and sell those instead.

Stop Q_Q there is always a way to earn some cash.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but gold is being sold as commodity. So there are no pages, just the lower price.

The chinese will not sell gold in RMAH, even if they get passed the SMS verification service (which isn't that hard), they will not agree to pay all the fees to blizz. They'd rather sell on their website for 2.4 euro rather then selling to blizz for 1.9 euro after taxes. They already have their costumers, they don't REALLY need RMAH.

Stop being so negative, if you're just trying to find excuses not to bot, then just don't do it, you need a winning attitude in any kind of business you start, botting included. Hundreds other will bot and will make a nice profit out of this and you just proved it with your theorycrafting.

Nah don't get me wrong, that isn't a negative attitude, it is a realistic one. I just invested in a new machine and more accounts. Right now I am trying to get a Belial run together for 3 levelees. It just takes ages.

what profile do you guys use ?There are so many and don;t know what to chose. I would like more complex one that can get to 5 nephelan stacks and kill a boss.

After two boxing a 5x belial, then helping out two other friends (4 accounts total, me playing two 60s, them on their lowbies) man that shit gets real tedious. I can't imagine 4boxing myself, or having someone else run me around, then again if you're playing 3/4 then you're doing most of the work.. but damn exhausting!

Sure is faster than anything else though.

you people paying .22c a kwh or even .15 are getting ripped LOL. I pay .8c kwh here....electric bill for a 1500 sqft house with 100*F weather outside in Texas is about $120.00 with A/C set to 74-75*F 24/7.....2 computers almost always on, and two 50" flat screens almost always on.....
