I finally got the email from blizzard saying why i got banned, and i got told that they had verified info that honorbuddy.exe *32 was running at all times. Back in the days when we where botting in other games, i remember there was a bot that would let you change the way it would look on the taskmanager, to whatever you liked, it could have been iexplore.exe or winamp.exe or whatever you wanted.

With the 5.1 patch blizzard made clear that it would scan our computer at any given time with whatever proccess was running, maybe its time for the HB developers to add a feature like this ?

just my 2 cents.

if they could detect the process was running, then they could just permaban EVERYONE not just you. you can change the name of honorbuddy.exe to whatever you like but it wont make you any safer because its illegal for them to scan outside of its own process and it doesn't.

if they really stated this in the email, answer them by ticket, and tell them that scanning your computer is against EU-laws. if the account wont be unbanned, you are forced to get a lawyer. e-spionage is a serious thing.
but i doubt, you are telling the truth

When i got banned, i appealed and told them that since i wasnt caught redhanded, that they would lift the ban immidiately. Then couple of days later, i got an email ( which i dont have anymore ) from an address that was like wowgmeu or something like that @blizzard.com that told me exactly what i told you guys.

I got no reason to lie, if you think i do then move on. I just have this that was on my ticket page :

Your account was temporarily suspended for 72 hours and put on a Final Warning because of the verified use of illegal third party programs. When running, the World of Warcraft client may monitor your computer's random access memory (ram) and/or cpu processes for unauthorized third party programs running concurrently with World of Warcraft.

Still, you should reply back to them and tell them they broke EU law's by scanning your computer. If this is true, then you may have a case on your hands and a big pay out for a massive security breach.

On the flip side, sounds like its a Phising e-mail. Have you actually tried logging into the game?

Edit: Another idea, when your client (WoW) crashes, do you send error report?
