Screen off/on Dectection (not HB related)

Hi all,

I'm not really talking about the HB program its self..

But wondering if anyone knows away to disable screen turn off/on detection on windows 10/8.1

Windows 10 knows when all of your monitors are turned off- and I do this every night when I go bed with my bots running.

and *excuse my tinfoil hat for moment* I cant help but think this information is shared with other processes within Windows (I know its shared with programs like Word,outlook ect)

If windows 10 lets any application that wants to know the screen condition - it would be pretty easy for blizzard to write some code to read and report this information - Flagging your account.

Now even if you take the tinfoil off for a moment.. Its a huge pain in the arese too- because every time I turn my monitors off and on-it reconfigures my positions of all my windows (including my bots)

FYI- I know 100% windows passes Display conditions onto other apps- as our business is writing a Application that uses this information as we speak.

Well my advise for you is to simply change your power settings so your monitor never powers off...LCD monitors do not suffer the same fate as that of a CRT monitor at all, therefore shutting down the monitor in Windows is simply used to conserve energy.....In the botting world this is pointless...

My power settings are set to never turn off... I manually turn them off at night.. I have 3 X 32inch 4k monitors.. They pull combinded around 2 amps @240volt .. WIch in Australia is around $400AU a quarter..

So yes it does matter.. because turning them off at night saves me around $200au a quarter.. Thanks

Your business is writing an application that is checking this information and yet you don't know HOW windows is getting that information? Why don't you just go ask the programmers that are writing the program at your business? Surely they'd know.

Because they are developers... They know how to get the information from windows state information.. However they do not know how windows 10 achives it.. It was a reg entry (as I'm sure it is in windows 10) however as of now there is no information avalible from MS.. and it certainly isn't where it was on Windows 7 and 8... 8.1 and 10 seem to have moved it so the store apps can access it. (renamed too- as ive been searching for a while now)

Go do this...Go ask your developers what is the name of the process/field that's returning the windows state information. Once you have that information, go to your registry and do a search for that key. Once you have that, go change the registry value from 1 to 0.

If you are manually turning them off but the pc is set as if they were still on, then there shouldn't be any issue.

Not the case, Windows 10 treats a monitor that's turned off, the same as a unplugged monitor.

As for the other post its not something you will find under power setttings.

Quite a few people use laptops with separate monitors. I am sure it probably reads the same.

This is mega-foil paranoia, but I know how annoying it is sometimes to try and fix things within windows. You could probably look into using a program like autohotkey to manage your screens. If you are actually just concerned with keeping the wow and Hb windows at the same coordinates you can easily write a macro to re position them with autohotkey.

Never had this issue, not with 8, 8.1 not with 10. Running my bots on my Laptop, wether screen turns off after 10 minutes, or I close the laptop screen, my bots just run and run and the windows won't get rearranged or anything else.

Laptop screen are completely nothing to do with this, as they are considered always connected.

FYI for all future posts, the Windows screen turn off settings is nothing to do with this thread..

I'm talking about, the actions Windows take when a monitor is unplugged, some may recall it makes a similar noise when you plug a USB stick in.

Windows performs the same actions now when a monitor plugged in or unplugged vis the hdmi,DVD or display port..

It's to assist with lost Windows, and applications have access to this information now, to know if a monitor is turned off or on, to move its self..

Please don't post any more regarding Windows monitor turn off settings
