First off, I would like to say good luck with the litigation! Been a huge fan of Honorbuddy and now Demonbuddy.

Back on top:

I had very good success farming Sarkoth with Gold Find gear on.

I don't currently have a magic find set.

Has anyone played around with magic find and found it to be worthwhile in 1.03?

Debating on just upgrading my gold find gear and eventually gathering a magic find set just from doing runs in themselves. However, if magic find makes Sarkoth more lucrative I would pony up and buy a magic find set.

Thoughts/ideas?

P.S. Demonbuddy withdrawals :(

Well Sarkoth farming in 1.0.3 could drop neat Rare and over 1000dps Weapon (blue, magical) so what to do is customize a rock solid Rules Set

item with >150 Primary Stat (Dex,Str,Int) AND >100 Vit AND other Placeholders like 20% MF/GF; 200 Life on Hit; >70 all Resis;

You should check the AH which stats currently has the most value: after the attacks speed nerf most players likely going for more Crit Chance and Crit Damage so any bot running
should really keep items with >40% crit dmg; >2% crit chance combined with other good stats like above

I'm not concerned with loot rules right now.

I was looking for feedback comparing MF gear vs GF gear.

I've got GF, debating on fishing up a set of MF gear for Sarkoth runs.

Depends what you look for ;)

GF if you looking for gold.

MF if you looking for items.

Tried with MF before 1.0.3 and not a good drop from one day session...
With GF doing like 400k+/hour.

Tried doing manual MF runs, with about 240 mf. In about 200 runs, I haven't seen an ilvl 63 item, just 2-3 ilvl 62. 200 runs only netted me about 250-300k gold in items and gold. But the bot could move faster then me since i took breaks every 2-3 runs because of boredom :P Also, bot should do a couple of hundred runs over night, a nice 1200+ dps wep could go for some nice cash :)

I was running it with 150% of both stats on 2 accounts, ended up with about 180k/hr and 2 legendary every 12 hours (on each account, so 4 a night). Each legendary was bad, but sold for about 350k-800k.

Weren't they supposed to buff legendaries in this patch? Did they? Only one I read about was some crappy x-bow.

i couldnt decide what to do with gear, mf or gf... so i went both, my farm gear has 230%mf and 217%gf, was grabbing arround 3-6k per run in gold and an average of 3 blues per run aswell. however since patch the nerf to boss drops has made a toll, 1-2 blues per run now and barly any rares so stick with gf gear if u cant get both. having both mf and gf on gear has been great for farming act 1 5 stacks jailor and butcher though, 100k per run and arroiund 30-40 rares every hr, takes about 30 or so mins to clear if i play properly.

Barb 11812 damage, 8.5k armor, 34.5k hp, basically no resists in this gear however so there are the occasional deaths :)

that patch will happen with the pvp patch is what i heard

It's too early to say.
They changed the way loot drops in the patch and bot hasn't been available since then.
Personally I've been trying to find gear with both mf and gf on for when the bot is back online.

Good question, was wondering the same, I am running it right now (before I go to bed) switched to MF gear (242%), will report to you as I wake up :).

Ok did a couple of hours run (had to manually ID rares cause DB crashes on ID--so didn't get much sleep since had to babysit the bot). Counting only rare and legendary drops:

Total: 8
Legendary: 1 (level 60)
Rares ilvl 63: 1
Rares ilvl 62: 0
Rares ilvl 61: 2
Rares ilvl 60 and below: 4

This drops in a sea of blues, as I was not keeping blues, I didn't track their ilvl. Sorry not much to go for for stats but just shows that ilvl 63 does drop from sarkoth (which also means I have to change my rules for blues...who knows a 1k dps blue is still a 1k dps xD). More on this when DB is less buggy- sleepy time now

I'd like to know which is more profitable,
GF -> Buying Legendaries/rares/whatever on Gold AH -> Selling on RMAH

or

MF-> Selling on RMAH

MF only affects the chance of an item being higher quality (ie legendary instead of yellow, yellow instead of blue) - which means better stat-roll-chances. The actual item-levels are unaffected (so you might only get the yellows on level 55 items!).

Personally I've gone quite MF heavy though - I've found the amount of good items I find and sell on the RMAH is worth more than what I'd get trying to farm pure gold, buying items on gold market and flipping them to RMAH.

But finding really *GOOD* gear with both gold AND magic find is the ideal. But very, very expensive. I have two monks farming Sarkoth and their stats are;
1: 193% goldfind 208% magic find. (gets about 420k gold an hour, and definitely gets more good yellow items in the stash each day).
2: 89% goldfind 203% magic find. (only just got to 203%MF today. Did have 180% goldfind and about 80% magic find before and hardly ever got a decent yellow item to sell). Only gets 290-300k gph or so, but prefer the items and didn't want to spend tens of millions on gear like I did with bot #1.

Anyway, personally, I think magic find is worth it - but don't neglect goldfind *altogether*. Depending on the longevity of the RMAH & Diablo 3, I think we might end up botting long runs that actually build up 5 stack of NV and doing pure magic finding and forgetting gold :P

I run 310GF/190MF setup on my DH and quite happy with the amount of rares.

for my runs ( with templar out on my DH ) 322 % gf and 127 % mf. personally goes a pure mf build is kinda bad for this setup but a good hybrid build ( will cost lots ) can make up for it in the amount of salavage you get. as of the last bot upgrade i average 500-510k per hr. with carguys profile 1.3c with 0 mf and http://www.thebuddyforum.com/demonb...ewelry-60-magic-items-among-other-things.html for loot rules
but i normally get a few good rares to sell for a few mill +

Put it this way, with MF there is a chance that you will find something good and sell it for a lot of gold. With GF, there is a certainty that you will make a lot of gold. Adding to that the time wasted picking up items, reviewing them, researching prices on the AH and trying to sell them 10 at a time, I think GF is a clear winner.

but with the inception of the RMAH, and the slowly but surely decreasing value of gold, isn't it better to do MF, even though the chance to get a "good" rare is not as sure a thing as gph?
