Salvaging? Is it worth doing for loot rules?

Just curious if salvaging is worth putting into my loot rules and using to make gold, has anyone had success by using it? I have seen some videos of people on you-tube making millions upon millions of gold by using salvaged gear for mats to make even more gear. Do you bother with it?

go to the auction house look up the price for essences and then compare that to an average piece of ilv62 item sold (say 1.3k), pretty straight forward.

and millions upon millions is not the case anymore ever since sarkoth died, and the price of essenses went down the shitter.

As of yesterday, each essence sold for 626 gold, and almost all of the gear vendors for at least that much or much more, so I have my DB set to always vendor.

Thanks for the tip. I haven't been monitoring that! I've set my rules to vendor all rares that I don't want, and to salvage blues, because the essences are going for about 900 gold on the EU side.
