safe to bot paragon levels?

I'm looking at the recent ban forums, and its pretty disturbing some people losing 30 accounts, so is it still safe to bot? I only have one account, and just want to speed up my paragon leveling a bit (i.e: lvl while i'm sleeping). I got banned awhile back when the game first launched and ban waves went through, and quit for an entire year, but now I'm back playing again.

but I have a pretty good amount of $$ into my account as its my main....has the bot gotten any safer, or is it more a risk now than ever?
 
still as safe as its ever been. A lot of things have been added to make it more "life like". If you dont want to lose your account dont bot it. It's just a matter of time before they catch it.
 
I did a minor test.

Botted on a new account for just half a day to 60 and left it alone.

Two weeks later, it was banned.

Trevor, it can work. But if you are unlucky like proe, your acc can be closed for ever. If you want to be 100% safe, dont bot. But if there is no banwave around, the chances are very small to non existent to be catched by the blizz radar.

my point with this question was....its mainly people that are botting multiple accounts getting banned. I haven't seen many people just botting "1" account posting they've gotten banned.

so it seems they might track by ip....and if 2+ accounts are connected from the same ip playing the same act, and doing the same actions 10hrs out of the day, thats pretty obvious. whereas, if its just one person, might not be so obvious.

so I was fishing for peoples opinions. Is it relatively safe to bot one account just for maybe 8hrs a day paragon leveling?
 
It won't be based off IP, at least, that won't be a red flag. There are heaps of people who live communally not to mention couples and brothers/sisters/etc.. who all play from the same house. Then you've got the social crowd who might load up their things at a friend's place on laptops, etc.., there are far too many issues. What they would likely look into is multiple accounts from the one MAC address (thus people VMWare assuming it masks it).

I've had 1 bot since the beginning, I haven't bothered investing in more, he bots as long as the client doesn't crash (which admittedly is a couple of times a day), but it pretty much back up within 5 minutes of crashing/bugging out. 24/7 if I can help it, and it hasn't been banned.
