RMAH: What type of items sell best?

From a quick glance, it would seem gear that pertains to farming inferno would sell the best on the RMAH. People aren't going to spend $ as often on non-itemlevel 60+ gear.

And from the 61-63 item level gear, I'm guessing high DPS weapons, +all resists, +MF, +crit chance, +crit dmg.

Are +GF necessarily selling or is that mainly a gold farming thing where we wouldn't spend $ on items ourselves (or do normal people farm gold too? I thought they generally gear farm)?

Doubt many people will be sharing their RMAH strategies, I know I'm not willing to let out the market that I'm selling to.

LoH weapons are being sold pretty quickly.

Making about 20-40€ per day personaly, all depends really.

haven't even attempted to sell on rmah yet, ive just been selling gold.

If you would go that route, then sharing profiles is even 100x worse for business.

98% of the people here probably would not be able to bot if people didn't provide the profiles, plugins, and how to's.

While I think that is true, and I am very grateful to those who share their profiles, I think that discovering a market niche is a little more exciting and something youd want to hold close to your chest. A profile I would want to show off and share, as by its dispersal does me little to no negative effect, but sharing a little known market secret would effectively hasten the demise of that item's profitability.

I'm usually undercutting prices by a large margin. I don't care if there's a €250 weapon on AH that is similar to mine. I won't put it up for €225, I will go for €100-150. Most of my earning come from me selling items from €5-25. I'd rather have it sell quickly than wait for a while and what's even worse, end up not selling it.

sell good weapons, good armor for good reasonable money, None of that 250 dollars for a shitty weapon. Sell stuff that works really well for a class like dex, vit, res for monks etc...

Ive heard that stormshield with perfect stats has sold a few times for $250, dont ask me why someone would pay that much. This is obviously not a strategy, since you cant target farmthe stormshield. everytime Ive found decent legendary set pieces, there have been hundreds of them on the RMAH for less than $5. I get more for selling the item for gold and then selling onto one of my gold buyers.

Wouldnt releasing profiles in terms of gold/MF profit fall into a decreased effect for the OP?
-their 'good' spot is now well known; higher chance of nerf
-their 'good' spot is now widely used; making more people GPH; decreasing value overall.
/same goes for any MF spots that turn up items with easy farming.
*i would say, if anything, profile makers can ask for donations. Therefore increasing their personal bankrole (making up for a declining market), and more importantly, reputation. If their rep is high among botters, more will donate for first access to future projects. Someone giving away their AH secrets isnt going to be given incentive.

To all posts that have given information (no matter how small): THANK YOU. This is a community that relies on one another to succeed and grow. Without personal tips (that in turn hurt OP in some way), this would all fail. Thank you for helping the DB community, and not keeping greedy selfish secrets to oneself.

I am working on a profile at the moment for optimized barb sark. When it's done, I will gladly share with the community. There are certain niche items on the auction house however, that I will not divulge, as they will be gone instantaneously if i do. Sarkoth and core are not going to go anywhere, as blizzard needs to leave some kind of spot for players to farm, so there is not really any risk sharing profiles there. And as far as the community goes, I would love to share all info if I knew it was just DB users (or supportive ones at that), but these forum posts come up in a google search, meaning any schmo can find this info, but only DB users can use the profiles, which is why it's different.

Anything people assume will last, will sell well in RMAH. An example of this would be "OMG I need a life on hit weapon or I can't do inferno, all my other gear is okey." then people will be like "fuck it, I'm so buying that" when you post a 680 DPS 400 lifesteal 100 vit 100 str dagger. Another example would be high level legendary rings / armor, people have a tendency to think that if they buy a legendary at least that will alst a while. So here you can charge pretty high and still get sales. Other then that, any "High end" item is likely to sell as long as the price is right compared to the rest of the market. Ilvl 62-63 chestpiece with 180 str 65 addallres 140 vit, sold! This is obviously a good item so people feel it's "worth it".

Other then that you have lower level items, and then especially Legendary weapons as people love having one of those when leveling up. Even though it's actually crap. Also Legendary Rings, Chest, Helm and Amulets are things people love dishing out good money for. As those are the "high priority" slots they've been trained to focus on over the years (which is a bit pointless in D3 xD). Good Gloves and Boots are also winners, as people will generally feel it's worth it because of the attackspeed / crit on gloves or the movement speed on boots which means they're a little more expensive. Boj Anglers would be a surefire sale for a leveling RMAH user.

Things that don't sell:
Sub level 10 items.
52-58 items, other then Legendaries. (People don't wanna dish out good money for something they'll be using only a few hours)
Blue Armor, even if stats are good.
Items that don't somehow stand out from the crowd. Either by beeing cheaper then the competition, or have another kind of advantage, a little bit of "flair" is reccomended. Bracers with a "Chance on Knockback" and a little lower (-10?) stats compared to the competition are very likely to sell because of this.

VERY true. IMHO, these threads should be locked for just registered DB users. --i can see your reasoning for not wanting the google-typing kids to find out; agreed. <- in avoidance to highjack, ill do a search, then a new thread asking if the forums will always be available to the open public.
