RMAH Gold price floor lowered to .25/mill

It will be much easier to reach 80 million gold when all your auctions on the GAH sell for 10 times the price they are selling now. Gold value will always be relative to items, items drive the market, not the gold. They are trying to inflate the gold value to give more value to items and less value to gold. This effectively eliminates the threat of pure gold farming. This only leaves item farming as a viable farming/botting option, and since it takes time look through stacks of items to post on the AH, many botters will be deterred from botting D3.

The only thing that will change is the gold value of items on the GAH will increase by the same factor as to how much $2.50 worth of gold will increase. The amount of money spent on the RMAH will not change, thus not changing Blizzards profits.

The smartest thing to do right now is to put all of your gold into items asap. Yes your gold will lose drastic value in 1.0.4, but your item value will always stay the same (This does not take into account Legendary buffs)

Since we are having the same discussion on both threads, i will keep it here..lol..

I do not see how Items will retain their value, well at least not on the GAH, which I think will be all but DEAD at this point, which I think is blizzards desire, which I think I just figured out why they lowered the price of gold.......

If gold can be farmed easily 24/7 kill the botters by making that gold worth nothing (essentially what they did).

Yeah, items will retain value, just not the same value they have now, especially when people are Gold --> RMAH flipping, that will NOT happen any more...so I predict the RMAH to be flooded now....Just thinking this through as I am typing and I can see where this is going now......better for us Champ Farmers.....

just cuz it got lowered to that doesnt mean you should sell 1m/.25

if ppl sell for that low theyre aholes

Some key rules of economics...

1st: The market is king
2nd: Always expect the worst for it usually comes

What will likely happen is this
1) Gold price dips to min cap on RMAH
2) Item value in GAH gets inflated in conjunction with "updated" gold prices
3) Tons of whine post in D3 forums about people not being able to afford stuff

I think with this change I'm done. I don't like reselling to 3rd parties cause of possible charge-backs.

From $30/day down to $5/day isn't worth it for anyone.

I think that common mistake is idea that blizzard cares about ppl who are trying to buy something for gold their gained by playing. I think that it doesnt, becuse its pretty obvious that in their plans RMAH was supposed to be D3 equivalent of WoW subscriptions, and players who dont use RMAH are just parasites who are overloading servers. Probably blizzard would prefer that everyone who bought game and is not using RMAH to just stop playing, because such ppl are useless, and only generating more work with thier tickets, server load, etc.

Yep, if I were Bliz, this would be my view.

It is actually 1mil/$1 MINIMUM now...try to put 0.25 per million and it will say (1.00 minimum to make an auction)

I think its 1.25, but either way you would post 5 stacks of 1 million for 1.25 and it would be .25/million.

1.25 is not the min per stack..just put 1 stack for .95 and it sold instantly.

No, what it is is that you cannot have a TOTAL auction for less than 1.00 I pretended to put up 10million for 0.25 each stack and it went through, since the total auction is 2.50, so yes 0.25/million IS possible just cant sell them at 1million stacks at that price

Went ahead and turned all the gold I had right after the patch into Radiant gems those went out for about .9/mil going into paypal

As of right now roughly 12pm PST, the gold prices are going well under listing for .79/mil and when you take into paypal it would equate to .6/mil

Gold is crashing and it's crashing fast.

Gold selling is over simple as that. It will take 30 days to pay for each d3. And with that the end of botting D3 will come for most people.

30 days?

I payed back my d3 in 5 days max including lvling 1-60 and gearing

You don't read do you ? Or comprehend what is going on ? They lowered the price per mil from 2.5 to .25 on RMAH. Do you know how to do math ? Let me know how long it takes to make your money back selling gold for 0.25/m and its not 30 days its 55 days assuming 6m gold per day.

That's just the floor price it doesn't mean that every player wants to list his at that value. Also blizz just hotfixed this so the minimum per million is $1 to prevent a market crash because gah prices are already rising. I told you this change was moronic.

Put 10 million gold @ 0.25 per stack, you can still put that up which is 0.25/million, there was no hotfix
