[RELEASE] BuddyWing 1.0.1179.627

Do you realize how little sense you just made? I'm not agreeing with the other guys point but we don't need to be thankful a company that is turning a profit on a product is actually working to fix their product.

That's what a business does. That's why we pay them. THAT is our way of saying 'thank you' for the product, our money. They wont shut buddywing down and give the keys to another bot as long as it still makes them profit. Other games like Wildstar are bound to get shut down long LONG before Buddywing. Them shutting Buddywing down right now would just be complete lunacy.

Actually I made tons of sense because they stated multiple times Buddywing makes them little profit and it mostly seems like a pain in the ass for them. The bot was already shut down once and was just barely saved by the community here at the time.

Most of the people demanding updates are having a nervous breakdown because the bot isn't printing money for them. So I would say yes you should be thankful they are fixing it and that it even exists.

How do u even know how much profit they make ? I work with 2 more ppl wich pay like me 1000 euro per year for the boot . That's 3k right ther from me and the ppl i work with . Plus i know 7 other boters wich are also hard core , and i am preaty sure they are allot more ppl like us . I dont know wher u guys get those ideas that the bot dont make a profit. It is not true , the swtor market is a verry competitive market , if they wher such few botters the price for the credits will had ben better . Plus buddywing is neded to be paid each year in comparation with the other bots wher u can buy lifetime, it will make a profit from the same botters each year, rather than buying the bot forever.

Since the bot is working for about several years, i really doubt that it doesn't make a decent profit for them. But i'm pretty sure they won't ever tell real profit of that bot to the community. So since there are people left who are using that bot and willing to pay for that bot, devs should provide a decent support for them, including updates and other stuff.

Edit: After googling I can find NOTHING about this, searching Buddywing and shutdown this is the only thread that came up. I fail to believe if the community here saved it, it would only come up with this thread when I googled Buddywing Shutdown.

in the future kindly refrain from spreading misinformation.

And you're still wrong about people should be thankful. If Buddywing shut down, someone is just going to make a new one to take its place within the next month and everyone is going to go there. Then they're going to have to do large scale refunds for keys, switch keys over, deal with massive amounts of support queries and ultimately shutting down Buddywing atm would be more work than just letting these guys fix it.

If you haven't noticed different Developers work on all the different bots. You will much sooner see them replace the Developers on Buddywing if they're unable to fix it before you see them shutting it down. The only bot getting shut down soon is Wildbuddy.

As I already said they have posted multiple times over the years that buddywing makes fairly little profit. The reason lifetime doesn't exist is because when the bot was shut down the community here begged them to bring it back at a yearly price to keep it alive.

There really isn't a huge amount of botters here. A main reason credits aren't higher is cause bioware simply isn't throwing out bans. If they did like they did before most people wouldn't even be here and they probably would of pulled the plug for sure after this last patch that broke the bot.

I'm not hunting and linking sources. You can go read the forums and find it. One of them even posted somewhat about it in the past week. Hawker made a comment on the sales not being that great in the last thread before this release thread. It looks like that thread has been deleted?

LOL @ someone making a bot within the next month. If someone was going to make a bot they would of done it in the past 3 years. Especially considering the issues buddywing has not to mention when the nav server went down every day before they fixed it. Let me guess you weren't around when the nav server went down almost every day for long periods? Going to demand me link sources?

EDIT: Ok Mr. Google detective just for the hell of it I went and looked. It took literally 2 mins to find one thread about the shutdown and there is even posts from hawker about sales in the same thread.

Sigh. You made a decent point, then ruined it by making a hypocritical statement.

I should have added with a chance of being shut down soon. If you look at Wildbuddy's threads and posts it is daringly close to Winterbuddy, which is the only bot that has been shut down to date.

Neverwinter was released June 20th 2013 and Wildstar was released June 3rd 2014. Winterbuddy was shut down 10/19/14 a little over a year after its release, I would say if Wildbuddy doesn't see a sales increase (which the game is down to two servers now and has not gone F2P yet) it runs the risk of being shut down just like Winterbuddy before it. Based on the current information on hand that is the only bot that currently risks shut down, hence the reason to mention it.

I think if Buddywing was gonna bite the dust, it wouldn't be so soon after a new X-pac. But who knows, that kid who linked the thread to it being shut down in 2013 was right, I am pretty surprised they brought it back up seeing as how that was before the most recent X-pac which probably just barely made it financially viable if it was not before.

Well this thread got severely derailed. I'll jump in to clarify a few things.

We currently have no intention of shutting down BuddyWing, as far as I know. While it is true I am currently the main developer from BuddyWing, when it comes to game-breaking changes such as the ones in the latest patch, we do move resources to the bot to get it fixed as soon as we can, but this isn't a simple case of "throw money at it to get it fixed".

Our team consists mostly of very specialized individuals. One of us did the majority of leg work when the bot project was started, which is well over three years ago. That person is no longer with us, and is therefore no longer getting paid. However, he currently is the only one who has the in-depth knowledge required to fix the crash issues we're currently facing. He's in Australia, I'm in Europe. He's agreed to help us fix the crashes whenever he has the time, but that does mean we're currently relying on his schedule to get the bot fixed and released, which is why it's taking longer than we expected.

The stuff he does is insanely complex, and there is only a handful of people in the world that are as good at it as he is. It's a rough spot to be in, but we'll get this bot back up and running as it did previously, and we won't shut it down for the forseeable future.

I found the lack of response extremly insullting. We are writing here for 2 days for some answer and no Developer sems to find 1 minute to answer us. Is like a ghost forum. I realy want an answer with the progress , they way the bot fight's now is extremly unproductive. I Pay 24.98Euro for 30 x 3 buddy codes evry year , the least u can do is give me an update as i do paid for the bot each year 749.4 Euro, and i am only asking for my rights as a customer . It already ben 3 weaks , i want the working product again . After all i paid for it .

Regards to the Developers , and waiting for an answer.

If you bought 30 3 session yearly keys, then you will already have had 30x a free month added to your keys. We've already stated we'll compensate for the downtime and irregular performance of the bot.

So when approximately the new version of the bot will come out?

so what exactly does he do? tell you what give me a reference, and a few mins to speed read it I will master it and knock this thing out for you guys. I might have to watch a how to video on you tube as well. so there you have it folks the bot will be up in 20 mins +- a few ns.

LOL just kidding. if I had 1/1000000000000000th of the skill needed to build a decent wrapper for the game I would be a god on this game instead of chilling in the forums

on a serious note what kind of skillsets would i need to basically recreate this bot? not that i want to i would just like to of more help in the future. i have time on my hands i only work a couple of hours a day

Various, being able to reverse engineer a game from scratch and having the programming skill to turn what you reverse into something useful would be a start.

Anyway on topic, there's a patch landing shortly - we'll update BW for that and release tomorrow. This release should be far more stable than the previous, but may not be completely stable. The feedback from the testing team so far has been positive.

have it fixed by the 16th for bonus week and I would be a happy camper, keep up the good/hard work guys.

Was your work recently focused only on crashing problem, or have you work on fighting and moving aswell? I mean is he the bot running more smoothly now without big pauses every 30 secs? :P

Anyway looking forward for a release :) Keep up the good work.

Main concern currently is the crashing.
The bot still has some rough spots that need to be cleaned up, like targeting during combat.
All in due time :)

@steadygrind

i'll answer that as well.

there's several methods when it comes to making a bot.
you can make a wrapper (a program that directly reads the game's programming to know whats going on)
you can make a...pixel/picture searching. (it checks by monitoring what you see.)
and you can make a basic one (simple keyboard+mouse control for application)

if you desire to make bots i recommend you start in that order, Basic,pixel/picture,wrapper.
make something that works.

as Aevitas stated, making a bot on this level is hard.
these people are using advanced methods so that you don't even have to keep the game's window open!
it does not take your active mouse or require the game to be on top or active for that sake.

but if you don't plan on running more then 1 bot per pc (can be bypassed with system emulating programs like VMware) then there's really only one advantage with having Wrapper, that the data it gets is far more direct and less likely to bail on you.
but simpler bots works just as good...if it works it works.

also a downside of Wrapper is its complexity, patches easily break those bots were a pixel/picture bot will only break if the graphics gets improved or changed...and that's rare.

oh and by the way, Developers, thanks for the good work, i'll look forward to the next version of the bot.
