I have been browsing various gold websites trying to offload some of my excess gold and trying to find the best price when "*****@hotmail.com" added ME and offered me $1.4/k.

This really sounds like a scam and I was wondering if you guys have heard of them.

sending money as gift does not stop any fraud or chargeback

Even if they send it as a gift on Paypal they can still perform a chargeback and the payment gets reversed, from personal experience with a scammer.
