How is this Radar any different? Was this decision made by someone who is not aware of the game contents?.

Also, the land grab bots were more of a Hack if you ask any Trion employee. Are you defining hacks based on what you think or what they think?.

The land grab bots doesn't allow you to do stuff the game cant all ready do.

Being able to display invisible characters no where near you is not what the game client allows you to do.

Currently the only thing banned from a radar is this.

What's the big deal about it ?

Being able to bypass the confirmation window while normal players can't is a hack.
 
I find it very confusing that botting and land grab hacks are allowed yet using a radar can not.

If you are stressing the issue of botting vs hacking, I would start with adding basic plugin's or code such as questing ones above lvl 34.

The radar issue should have been prevented from being posted and there should be adequate screening instead of leaving it out there for weeks then suddenly insta-banning it.

Anyway, it's your decision but we will let our wallets speak for us for this product or any future buddy product.

I agree. Couldn't there be a grace period giving plugin devs time to change their code while users can continue to use the current release of their plugin? As opposed to yanking everything off the boards right off the bat.

THE BIG DEAL IS A LOT OF US PAID JUST FOR THIS, AND BS LANDGRAB IS MORE OF HACK THEN RADAR. THATS WHY IT SENDS PACKS TO THE SERVER AND GET YOUR AZZ BAN! oo WAIT YA YOU CAN SEE A HOUSE 200M+ IS GOING TO BE UP IN TIME oo YA YOU CAN GET THE HOUSE BY HAND IN LESS THE 1MS AND SKIP ALL THE OK'S, YA YA NOOOOO THIS IS NOT WROSE THEN A RADAR LOL

So your are not getting what Jimmy08 is trying to say from the start and probably cant outright say. The company that make archbuddy can and will be sued if they produce a product that can "hack" a game. Plenty of other companies have gone down for that, google ceiling fan software vs blizzard, Implise Software vs Jagex. They are using a legal loop hole argument to keep the site, product and company open. There has been a legal distinction between botting and hacking. Hacking can cause a monetary loss in which the breaching party can be held responsible for every user that "hacks" the game.

Ask yourself do they really care about botting vs hacking? no.. Do they want to lose their company, job and gaming community, No ... so follow the less grey route.. Are they reaching for things like land grabs etc, yes but it holds to their argument that its nothing the regular client couldn't have done if it was there.
 
i hope they keep radar and land as hacks and not allow becouse its really hacks
 
My two cents on that matter :

-> Buddy has always been about botting. Automate shit you don't want to do yourself. I'm fine wih that. That does not imbalance the game itself as a buddy product is just supposed to be a less potent version of you playing the game.

-> A radar is basically the MMO equivalent of a WallHack in any one FPS. It is cheating. It does imbalance the game severly, as a whole part of this game's PVP is about how to deal with stealth and sneak. To me it's even worst than doing teleport tradepacks runs. This is cheating and not botting. It bothers me quite a bit that a Buddy product makes you able to cheat. The land grab pluggins fall into the same category.

If you want to hack and cheat and do shit like that, go to the hags club.

I was around when Mercury was sued by Blizzard, I'm well aware, son. My point was why allow them in the first place; allow people to buy the product for sole use of radar, then yank all the radar plugins with no notice. The threads, now removed, with land grabbers had built in functions to teleport to the expiring plot. Those were blatant hacks, yet they were allowed to be posted. The radars only had 1 function (detection of invisible players) that could be considered a hack and were crucified. I'm simply upset by the double standard. The compromise with the new radar policy is fine, it's just unfortunate that it was so sudden. Thanks for dropping that heady knowledge on me though.

This stops here. Radars are allowed as per the topic I linked earlier. Secondly if it teleport's you its also against the allowed plugins and if reported also will be removed. I've spoken with out about landgrabbers and houses and he said that the servers now don't allow packets to build a house whilst your 200m away.

The Radar plugins where archived and not removed though any download on them was. This is because EVERY Radar plugin that was live did not comply with the requirement for them. They where all remove so that there was no "double standards" as you suggest.

If you see a plugin that you think breaks the rules please do report it and we shall deal with it appropriatly.

This topic will now be closed as nothing else constructive can be added to it.
