So lately I have been doing traderuns (because of the availability of the plugins) but 120 labour spend for 5 or 6 gold isn't the greatest.

I have heard of some people fishing but have not done it myself (either on my legit account I play or my bot account) and was wondering what the use of labor per gold made compares to traderuns?

I do enjoy mining but unfortunately the price of raw stone on my server has dropped dramatically and it just isn't worth it any longer.

Any other options people would be willing to share? I also have my 16x16 farms (2) using on Husbandry
 
I typically make between 500-700g per 5k labor fishing, bit more if I pop my 2 workers comp for the extra 2k labor. I guess if you want to break it down, each 100 labor I use converts into 8-32g, averaging around 13g/100 labor in the long run.
 
adam don't you get attacked by pirates a lot while fishing? looks like a lot of lost trade packs and destroyed boats!?
 
I personally don't get attacked often as I'm in a top tier guild, however that is quite a risk. We will typically jump in, clear out all the fishing boats/clippers and destroy them, then take their fish and throw them in our fishing boats then keep fishing until full. It's typically pretty safe during off-hours though. If that's still too risky, you can always do freshwater sport fishing though, where 5k Labor will net you around 100-120g or so, but at that point I think packs become more efficient. Just really depends on what you want to do.

Most of us have our, hrm, non-public methods to making gold. Fishing is still a good public known method though, as well as playing the auctioneer. In general though you just gotta find that little niche and you can make around 1kg a day on average with spikes of 3k-4k or days of 0k (which is when I resort to fishing for the 500-700g.) Archebuddy makes it easy, just gotta figure out which method suits you best! Best of luck with the gold farming though!

Heya Haku, I use Lazy Fisher. It's an amazing plugin that has caught every sport fish I've hooked. I highly recommend the plugin! In the current build, you just cast, and wait until the fish is caught. Loot it, scale it, profit!
 
Adam, I'm new at this, can you help me? I copied the code of the plugin, pasted in the editor and compiled, it created the dll file, go to the spot of fishing with a rod and bait in the yellow bag, but when I do play it in the plugin at the same time of the stop, which can be? Thank you!

At what proficiency fishing does fishing start to profit well? I've never fished before in Archeage so I don't really know much about it. Is it not profitable without a fishing boat?
 
I have looked around, but I can't seem to find the LazyFisher thread. Would someone be able to link it for me?

Heya, for the LazyFisher you still need to cast the line unless you code in an autocast. No, I don't make 1kg per day fishing, read above. If I burn my 5k labor fishing, I'll only net between 500-700g. Sorry but I won't be posting how I am making 1k/day on average. Today just happened to be a lucky day for me so far and I'll be sitting on around 3500g at the end of the day and I'll prolly burn 5k labor on fishing just to try and hit that 4k mark. Fishing is a great way to make money, but there are better ways out there, just need to experiment and try out different methods. I wish you guys the best of luck with your farming!

You also have to count the cost for bait and lost trade packs due to pirates in. I dont think fishing is 13g/100labor at all by normal circumstances

Heya guys. When sport fishing, you don't use bait so there is no cost. You use lures which cost 20 vocation points per cast, and each hook automatically gives you 100 vocation badges so you actually gain vocation while wasting nothing, except for the mats to craft the pole, which is all grown/mined ect. With lazyfisher, you can sport fish at 0 prof, it just takes quite a bit longer to catch. I started at 7k prof myself and had no issues. Pirates are an issue unless you're in a top tier guild, or can get into fishing raids where you have a marginally lower rate of being attacked. I feel that 13g/100 labor is a fair average due to catching some marlin worth 32g where as most others are worth 11g and I factored in the few casts where you don't end up catching anything. If you disagree that's fine, I'm just reporting what myself, and my guildies are able to make per 5k labor burn fishing.

Holy shit - 3500g in a day are you kidding me? That's like $300 in gold if you are playing for profit - better than a full time job
