question about the risk of botting

lol I'm really no one else. Longtime WoW player (since CB) but quit after Cata cause it was trash and didn't come back until a short while ago. Used glider and stuff waaay back in the day and was recommended to use HB by a buddy (pun intended) and have been extremely impressed by it's depth and the professionalism of the developers. I've lurked a bit and recently got caught up on the whole PQR/PE debacle (as I haven't played in years I was unaware of the program and the ban wave) and as a result I noticed Soapbox had used PQR and a lot of his customers got banned.

Just a lurker and new HB user who thought I'd finally try and join the community!

haha nice, good stuff pretty sure youll be more than welcome here ^^ Actually I just read about the whole PQR thing a couple of days ago after the tripwire event, been kind of hooked on the whole botting world since, I mean ive botted for a few years but now I'm very interested in learning about the people behind it. What? So all good players are botters? Ive never seen such a claim from any other player in pve at least. Pvp over-powered reactions ofc stand out, thats why most ccs has interupts delay times. And FYI, if you set your interupt to ~0.5sec before finish casts, its never 0,5s. Server lag and delay makes that number vary, making it seem more natural. Ofc there is a difference from a interupts time between 0.3 to 2 sec and 0.3 to 0. 7 sec. But Blizz aint monitoring this for what we know.

I've used Lazyraider on Garrosh kills with over 30 interrupts at the end of a fight while everyone else is a good 20 interrupts behind.
While a good player could achieve the same results, they wouldn't bother kicking half the casts the bot does.

There Warden has "Friends". Thise friends are often, believe it or not, other players and botters. Ive been botting for a while now made my gold from gatherbuddy doing the start of this xpan, last half year ive been raiding. But never banned. And ive farmed ALOT. Its about smart botting. Public profiles end you chasing another bot. Same does questing.

1773.85, 63.06, -46.32 landing on those coordinates thousands of times wouldn't look legitimate. (I don't know how accurate HB is when it comes to hotspots, but there would be a recordable pattern regardless)

Again with the paranoid stuff. There is a limit to how much blizzard can monitor and how much they actually monitor from us. You have to really have flagged out big time to get under such investigation - not saying they actually can monitor your interupt rates.

While it would be illegal, they have the ability to do just about anything on your computer. All it takes is pushing an update packed with a remote admin backend. (I'm not saying that they do this, what you said made it sound as if it's simply not possible)

Edit: Don't care. You guys can figure it out on your own. Enjoy the 30 days off, Soapbox Rotations doesn't use the same bloat that honorbuddy does, the majority of "threats" that apply to them have absolutely no effect on a community that:

1. Does not Inject
2. That is out of process
3. That is not used primarily to exploit the economy and PVP

As soon as some of you put 2 and 2 together and realize if you are using Honorbuddy for something other than being a pest to blizzards economic and ranking structure then "you're doing it wrong". Soapbox Rotations is perfectly safe, I could care less if this terrible community believes that. Its the damn blind leading the blind here. Soapbox Rotations as a PROGRAM has no suffered from 1 account loss since its conception, HB gets hits on the daily. I still find it comedic how some of you truly believe that what affects HB affects everyone else.

I know of numerous people that have been banned using soapbox 3 of which were in game friends of mine who didn't want to pay for hb or more expensive CR's... Just as you stated how undetectable PQR was you'll be wrong again. Do you think a billion $ corporation like blizzard couldn't discriminate against a lesser bot like yours just because yours "doesn't follow the norm"? Your ignorance actually DISGUSTS me to no avail. They'll stick one of their 20 year old security interns on soapbox and he'd have a fix in an few hours. Your an absolute and udder liar and some would even go as far as to call you a scammer. It is you that are blind.

Was some add-on program that ran combat routine profiles and there was a huge banwave in January this year because the person who made it essentially broadcast the addon updates using a chat stamp function so basically Blizz could search for that and ban everyone who broadcasted that stamp. My explanation is very generic because I don't understand the programming but that's basically the gist of it.

Yea. It was thought to be PQI, which was an add-on used with PQR.

The PQR even was unfortunate, but it changed the way everyone(who was left anyways) looked at security. The easiest thing to do at this point, is to stay out of process. It is easy to do if you design everything around it. Taking something like HB and trying to convert it is a completely different, and painful story.
