Because I was thinking of purchasing a major amount of hb keys but what will happen if hb loses the trial? then all my keys are useless right?

No - at the rate we are going, it will be 2015 before any life or death decisions get taken. The court in Hamburg still hasn't posted a reasoning for its decision on July 4th. The whole process is incredibly slow.
