Works for me. Does it have vendors?

And please release for all zones :p

(bug: even after disabling plugin it still overrides loaded profile [had quest profile loaded with profiledb disabled and it still downloaded the profile and loaded it])

Yes it has Vendors, it has also trainers, and im also adding mailboxes.

This has prolly already been said, sorry if it has, but if instead of having it load scripts from your server it could load custom profiles. This would be an awesome project for those who wants something to do. If people could contribute custom profiles (something like how people can contribute to Wiki's), all we would need is people to create multiple grinding profiles for each zone so there would be a variety of profiles to choose from so not all botters would be grinding in the same area.

Yeah it would take awhile but if Apoc's profile creator is working it would literally only take minutes to create profiles. Meh i dunno if it's a good idea, i'm making this up as a write this >.<

After much consideration i have decided to approach this project in 2 ways, experimental
profile generator, and pre-made profile query.

  • A.) Query the premade profile DB. [checkbox to enable/disable this]
  • B.) 100% Generated profiles, based on a set of weights trying to create a grind profile.

Approach A.)

First approach will be a combination of both, first it gets all the hotspots required, and all the avoid
mobs. It then queries database for each of the closest: Food-Vendor, Repair-Vendor, Class-Trainer and
Mailbox. And a class specific "protected" items list is then also added.

Then it will also automatically find all factions within a area, and add these as well, as its not
uncommon that some profiles miss the correct factions.

Also names in this approach is changed to the naming used in approach B. where it will find
the zone the profile is located. what lvl the NPC's are and what types of NPC's.

Example:

[3-5] Durotar - Mature Boar, Dire Mottled Boar

And broken down:
[3-5] Mobs in the entire grind area is in lvl range 3-5
Durotar Zone the magic happens.
Mature Boar, Dire Mottled Boar What kind of mobs found in the entire grind area.

Approach B.)

Don't think i need to explain how this works, it tries to create a profile from bottom up using different
sets of weights.

I guess go with a lol

Yes!

I've been working ALOT on this project this past week, and im currently working on the web interface to administer all of this, as there are some variables that a "unknown" when a profile is imported into the database.

These are some of the unknown's:
  • Some profiles lack ContinentID
  • No way other then vendors to determine if a profile is horde / alliance or neutral sided
  • Most profiles lack a creator attribute in the HBProfile tag

I do this so that people can import profiles themself into the database.

Heres a small scenario, i make a new character a Orc Hunter, i then start the bot, bot then tells the server I am a lvl 1 character, Im located in Kalmidor, and i am in the starting area (would actually tell It It's X,Y and Z location). Now server replies with a profile. It has several profiles for Kalmidor, and there are several profiles for a lvl 1. But It will pick the profile which is closest distance from my location. So it replies with a profile in the orc starting area.

Further down the road i plan to expand this idea with having additional filters so which a profile found would also suit your character depending on its class, profession etc.. [Read more about technical information further down.]

Great idea, I vote yes!

Below this is just me brainstorming, do what you want with it.

Do you think a ranking system would also help to determine the best profile?

Allow the users to have the option to rank the profile like 1-5 stars and add comments.

If the profile recieves 1 star 10 out of the 10 times it was used, it could be flagged for review.

In addition if there were two similiar profiles and one had a higher ranking it would use the higher ranked profile.

It could be defaulted to always use the higher rank profile, or add it to the filters options.

Very nice addition there. I like it. I haven't looked at this enough, but is it released yet? And If so are the questing profiles implemented also? Thanks

Hmmm, sounds good.....but I'm thinking this will require mapping essentially:

Every repair/food vendor, trainer, avoidmob and mob in the game.......might as well map all quest too, for future quest profiles. As for user submitted profiles...a standard would need to be established and inforced

Really? The post has been inactive for over 2 months and the OP has apparently yet to move on with this. Did this thread really need to be necro'd?

always info going to a server is a little bit sketchy. you can do everything you want all client side and take out the server thing altogether. either way i like the idea

Love the idea, brilliant, but in my oppinion all good things should be kept private in the hands of those who deserve it. share it with your friends, and maybe sell it

Perhaps your time would be better spent learning to do something beneficial to the community, rather than trolling forumns, making useless comments based on your limited knowledge, and just making an ass of yourself in general.

I vote yes as long as you give credit to the profile makers. Which you are. So go for it!

This will make HB The best Bot ever! also it will save a lot of searching

People, please read the orginal poster's date when they first opened the thread because you are all ressurecting a dead thread when it was opened over 4-5 month ago.

Yes, because apparently you have actually taken the time to read my other posts. If you REALLY wanted to reply to my post i guess your time would have been better spent explaining why my post is trollish. I thought that i had made a valid statement and you haven't refuted it. This post was inactive for over 2 months(While the thread itself is 4 months old) and the last post by the OP talked about progress and nothing has been posted since. The fact of the matter is that you necro'd this thread when it wasn't at all needed. In fact i just checked, i had to go to page 40 to find a thread started in February.

Though i realize you have done some things for this community maybe some of that time should be used for not being an ass.
