OK. So the way things worked before. Hotspot A and Hotspot B. The bot would run back and forth between these spots and kill everything in and between them. For example you have Hotspot A, Hotspot B, and the green x's represent NPCs to kill.

This technically results in a waypoint system.

Now that hotspots have been fixed and work as intended your picture would look something like this with three HotSpots, A, B, and C.

As we can see. The majority of NPC's exist in the dead zone in the middle so they will not be killed either. This is also the improper way of making a profile.

Now... If we add a few more hotspots.

As you see the full area is covered and everything is killed. I forget exactly how big hotspots are. If I remember correctly ~80-100 yards. But if you overlap them in a chain just barely over lapping you cover the area efficently. Leave nothing to attack you from behind. And in general give your profile users a higher exp/hour and kill/death ratio.

Anyways I just thought I'd get this out there as I've seen more profiles being made without anyone realizing this is whats going on as I never saw it conveyed to the general public.

In my profile editor, I use the GrindArea@MaxDistance element to specify the 'range' to kill around each hotspot. That's what I was told to use at least.

*shrug*

The forum doesn't hate your tags. It hates YOU! ^^
Besides that I never heared of a GRINSAREA tag :D
Is that an area where you have to grin to everyone :p

(When you quote you can see the original tags, which also don't get posted in the quote)

stomkutforum.nl, it was a typo:) GrindArea! en MaxDistance maarja lama gaan:)

Is it possible to get a listing of all the tags that are used in a profile. Such as a Generic blank one w/ some notes. I remember one a way back but cant seem to find it again and with all the tags added in with questing and what not. That way when ever the devs add in new tags they can just make changes to the blank one that everyone can reference. Through out all the HB updates I have made several different profiles and every other patch the tags change or more get added or become obsolete.

Such as this updated to what the current version of HB uses. The New Profile System How TO

Search for Synik's Profile posts. They are mostly updated.

Yes thats the one I was trying to remember from a long time ago. Was a really good write up. Only issue I am having now is the new quest overrides is it mandatory for it to be up top out of the forced quest list area or can you add the new overrides to the quest id that you fill under the forced quest list section. To me it would seem logical to put all extra info on the particular quest all in one spot. I downloaded hawkers 1-60 question profile... so just using that as a template for the override section location.
