[Program - Dev] Apoc's Profile Editor [Semi-Beta]

Status
Not open for further replies.
Apoc, I got your latest build (19-09) and found something. When you create hotspots it sets the Z coordinate as 0. This causes HB to give the error that it was unable to generate a path from your toon's position to the hotspot. Z coordinate should bet set as "findhighest" and it works, for me at least.

Thanks for sharing this with us, helped me so much making my own profiles.

Hope that helps.

Tools -> Fix Bad Z Coordinates

That's an amazing demo Apoc. I've played around with it before viewing this and thought it may be kind of handy, but now seeing how it's fully used and what it's capabale of, I will be playing with this a lot more. Can't wait to see what you do with the questy bit

I do this stuff for free, and that costs me a lot of beers. Feeling nice? Want to buy me one? Donate some cash to the "Get Apoc Drunk Fund"!

Donated!!!

Ps - your donation profile on paypal returns to a non-existent forum on www.mmowned.com

Thanks for the 24 pack!

And yea, I noticed that I linked the wrong URL. Unfortunately; I can't change it. (I didn't save the 'button')

Im having one issue and ive not seen anyone else post having this same issue. When i go to add the mobs to the factions list no matter which mob i click on it is labeled as faction id 14 any ideas why ?

Hmm i just created a whole northrend profile and didnt come across this... maybe you should delete and re-download to see if that help's, if it doesnt what OS are you running on? im running window's 7 and have no problem atall

Make sure you select a different NPC. I'm aware of the selection stuff being 'iffy' on registering clicks.

You can also try to automatically insert the factions. (See the Tools menu)

Apoc while making profile's with your profile creator (after watching your demo) i couldnt pull up vendor location's on the map, is this going to be a future update or is it already implemented and me being a noob coul'nt find it?

After looking at all the profile's i have released i have noticed that the faction ID's are all wrong and most of them are faction ID 14, im also running of window 7 64 bit, i have also tryed adding faction's from hotspot's but i still get the problem.

Using the latest version, I'm unable to add any hotspots. I shift right click and it does nothing.

Can you paste the profile? Chances are; you didn't set the levels properly.

The profile is fixed :) and yes your right lvls wern't set properly. Sorry should have posted that.

Anyways thnx for this great program

This editor looks amazing and I would like to make use of it, but I have different issues.

System Specification

WinVista Business x64 (german)
Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1
Microsoft XNA Framework Redistributable 3.1

What I did

I just downloaded HBPE_9192010_744.7z and extracted it to my programs folder. I started it and set the path to my World of Warcraft directory while the game wasn't running.

Now the Editor is looking like this and only Eastern Kingdom is getting a map preview:

mapserror.webp

Next problem I get is when loading profiles with scripted quests (overrides):

loadingerror.webp

The profile I tried to load in my example can be found here.

Am I doing something wrong?

/EDIT

I just realized your editor doesn't support questing yet. But it's already brilliant to get a layout for QuestOrders and use the GrindAreas to fill the gaps.. Please ignore the second problem for now ^^

What are you looking to edit? Not really helpful.

When adding factions automatically; it will pull the factions from any mob contained in the currently selected subprofile's hotspots. Otherwise; you need to make sure they're selected, and added manually.

I haven't seen this issue. I've successfully made a few profiles without the faction ID being 'hard coded' to 14, or any other value.

Using the latest version, I'm unable to add any hotspots. I shift right click and it does nothing.

Shift + Left Click - The help dialog in the lower right is wrong. (I'll update it eventually)

Apoc while making profile's with your profile creator (after watching your demo) i couldnt pull up vendor location's on the map, is this going to be a future update or is it already implemented and me being a noob coul'nt find it?

Make sure the Vendors checkbox is enabled on the bottom-center of the editor. If there are any vendors in the DB for that continent, they'll be shown.

Questing is not an issue. The <Objective> tag *must* be contained in a <Quest> tag, or <QuestOrder> tag. Not just by itself. It is not valid XML for HB2 profiles. (Thusly; not an issue with my editor)

As for the editor not properly showing the names of the continents; this is due to a somewhat lazy way of handling the names. I read the DBCs in whatever locale the current user's WoW is. (In your case, I'd assume a non-English version) This has inherent flaws, mostly due to some bugs in my DBC code. I'll look at it again, and see if I can solve the issue.

Awesome piece of work Apoc!
Definitely going to start using this for profile-making!

Missing a few elementals in EPL as far as I can see. Nothing major tho :)

Zo0o0oM posted before me to Edit - NPC filter's to bring up my vendor location's but i posted my UI to show i dont have a edit button.

I haven't seen this issue. I've successfully made a few profiles without the faction ID being 'hard coded' to 14, or any other value.
All profile's i have created i have released to the public without testing for some feedback, but while looking threw the profile code i noticed nearly every faction ID had 14 init.

Make sure the Vendors checkbox is enabled on the bottom-center of the editor. If there are any vendors in the DB for that continent, they'll be shown.
If you look at the UI i posted earlier you will notice i dont have a vendor checkbox to enable at the bottom-center of the editor or anywere else.
