Hey
Ive tried to post around, buy no answer , so im gonna ask here:

I got this problem:
I got VMware, all setup - bat file to d3 etc.. It starts up (pretty slow, but it happens)
When I go to start game/resume game , it goes to loading screen and then "You are unable to join the game at this time"
Ive tried everything the last few days--- Someone how knows how to fix it ?

Spec:
32 gb 1600 mhz
i7 3770k
128 gb SSD

only got 1 VMware - its slow like ****! donno if that has somethine to do with the joining problem - I mean, it takes 5 min to start up, also when ever I change the d3 resolution it goes into not responding - So I have to close it and reopen it again. Any Idea ? Ive followed the guide in here to perfection, so the "setup" should be fine ?

Have a really nice day :)

Found it, Ill try that out now :) - thanks for taking your time to answer
Ive now gotten Prio saver, and ive tried opening a few times now - I may have gotten a few sec faster startup - but still slow as hell :(
And once again I get the same error when I try to start/resume game.

It goes like this,
When I finally get the game open (4 mins or so)

I hit resume game and start my timer
at 1 min 20 sec my screen goes from the page till a loading screen
at 2 min 50 sec it comes back from the d3 loading screen and bring me the error

Sorry I got no solution for you, i just wanted to share that I had exact same problem and tried all the things you did, did not help at all. I am guessing it is something to do with graphics processing, unless someone else knows otherwise...
I basically just gave up on vmware and went back to standard botting.

Could you maybe post your computer spec? I mean it could be, that we have something in common?

Have a nice day :)

I had some problems before I got things working properly, turned out it was the Windows version that was faulty. Try another one and see how it goes. I first tried the one you got, but changed to the one with internet explorer.

I would def. try that out - im not much into these tweaked windows, to max the performence etc. So im not quite sure where to find a version, as you are talking about , could you maybe give me some more details about the one you use ? :)

I got mine at thepiratebay, named the same as yours but stated that it included internet explorer.

Ive now tried with the IE version as well, no luck :( still the same problem as before .. Its wierd because my IE runs fast etc.. Its only diablo...

Thanks for your answer Tony - I may have forgotten to mention it, but ive followed that guide 100%. So somewhere there are some complication with my computer spec and the way he has done it.

Ill include my bat file:

If someone got an enBG .bat file for thier VMware, I would appreciate if you would be so ?ber nice and send it in a PM to me :). I would like to try someone elses bat file out .. I mean, its the last option I can see being the thing that can solve this :/

I followed this guide and still had this same problem. The solution (for me) was to copy all of the mpq files onto the guest. I tried tirelessly for a long time to try to get the symlinks to work but they were just too slow (even on ssd).
You sir, just made my day! THANKS! this was the solution for me!

- But it gave me a new problem - If im doing it that way, ill have to increase the HDD on my VMware - which means im running out of space only got 128 gb SSD - But I dont know how to create more VM and locate them on my 7200 RPM 500 gb - when ever I make a new one, it set the SSD by default and Ive no idea where to change it.. anyone of u guy know ?

Thanks ! :)

Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but you can just add a second virtual disk to the VM, and put D3 on that. Here's how: VMware: Add second disk to a Windows virtual machine | LINHOST.INFO

Except where they say "Now just tell it where to store the new disk file and click on Finish. I would recommend going with the default, keep all files in the same place.", you'd change that location to the HDD. If you only run 1 VM disk performance shouldn't be that big of a deal anyway. (ninjaedit: make sure there's enough extra space on the HDD so the new virtual disk gets fragmented as little as possible)

And don't forget to disable/move the windows pagefile if you haven't done so already. (to protect your ssd)
