Problem Loading 2 Instances of Diablo III

Hi all,

So I have had this working since game release and beyond patch 1.0.5, but now it won't work and I can't figure out why.

I have one instance of D3 installed on my C:/ drive and another on my F:/ drive. I simply copied/pasted them.

My C:/ copy is the one I load first (for Europe) and the target is: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Diablo III\Diablo III Launcher.exe"

The F:/ one is loaded second (for Americas) and the target is: "F:\Diablo III\Diablo III.exe" -launch

So the first one loads fine, which is what you'd expect, but when it comes to loading the second one, I receive a prompt saying that "A new patch for Diablo III is available. The game will now close and apply the patch automatically." Once the dialogue closes, it prompts me again saying another copy of Diablo III is running, and then it exits.

I don't know where I've gone wrong here but I would be extremely grateful is somebody could help me out.

u need update both game instalations after patch load the second one alone to it update, then try again

Copy the game to your desktop, add this to the Diablo III.exe right click it and choose properties then add -launch to the command line.
Don't make a shortcut to the LAUNCHER.EXE!
Then you can run 2 D3's. Add more folders for each game if you want to run more.

It should look like this accourding to where you copy your new D3 folder.
"C:\Users\Gino\Desktop\Diablo IIICOPY\Diablo III.exe" -launch

It works 100%
If theres a new patch run the patcher.exe before running the game.

Or buy isboxer, db has support for it.
Or you could use sandboxie to run more than one instance of d3 from the same folder.

I have just realised that the problem was actually due to this new patch that I knew nothing about. Does anybody have a link to info regarding the patch?
