Priest IB - Healing as Holy.

Hi guys,

I am a dual spec priest, Shadow for grinding and Holy for Instances.

I love this addon a lot! but there is only one issue i have with it. When i am watching the instance, the bot seems to be a slow thinker and often ends up being a death within the group, which is not good at all. Maybe its the CC im using, but Isis is surely the best CC out there for HB.

Has anyone else encountered this problem?

I hear people on these forums saying they can leave IB on over night, but i really couldn't do this as i need to babysit it, and if im babysitting it, i may aswell be doing it?

There is no problem inside of your text. Yes, it sometimes is a little bit "slow thinking" while priest-healing -> Its a bot!

But:
Tell us (or the dev?s) what should be done to make it better?

i did gather that bot would be slow, but nowadays people will rush through instances putting your healing/damage/tanking skills to the test. and if it isnt up to scratch for the party, they will just kick you or then find out that you're a bot because the bot cant answer for itself if they start asking Questions

my mistake, i meant bot. But im pretty sure you could of worked that one out.

Instancebuddy works better with a priest using Disc spec, the passive damage absorption helps a lot, and the addition of Penance helps greatly. Try respeccing to disc and then report back, I bet you will be surprised.

I disagree with this. Holy is by far the better spec to heal the new dungeons with right now. What I find to be the single most important factor is gear. If your gear is weak then you'll be weak. It's that simple. Make certain you have PoM checked for use and your prayer of healing percentage adjusted for a higher value. I find that the default values don't cut it when you're first starting out.

Pay attention to what the bot is doing right and what it's doing wrong. Like you may say "damn wish it cast flash heal instead of heal" I had to watch very closely how my holy spec healer was healing. I just made adjustments and all is well. Hell I've been told so many times that I was their best healer for this instance I can't count.

Now if only we can get raphus to code in some other holy spec spells like guardian spirit

I have 2 priest, 1 disc 1 holy.

Holy is a great throughput healer to keep things in order.

disc pwnsface, hands down.

I was killing LK 10 Heroic at the end of last xpac

I'll agree with you that holy is a good spec, and either way, a priest in adequate gear should be able to heal just fine. But this is a specific issue regarding the CC, and the Disc portion of the CC works better than the holy portion as it is now. I always used to prefer holy myself, it had superior AoE healing, and good punchy single target heals. I'd like to see holy CC get some work, it just uses a bit different type of logic.
