posting around 200 posts a night of raw goods mean high probablity of ban?

I have been botting on 4 of my accounts every night for about 5 hours each and mailing them to multiple level 1's then each level 1 posts in the morning about 150-180 raw materials each day.

Is this a sure fire way to get banned and if so any suggestions on how to handle this?

150-180 raw mats or stacks of mats? if it's stacks then it may raise some suspicion if it's everyday. i doubt it's a problem though.

Yes there are stacks of 20 in the posts. About half maybe along with the bonus gems from the ores and of course lifes.

Warden starts to scan auctions posted with more than 20 auctions on a character. It gets dangerous at arround 50+ (Per toon).
Crafted materials (IE - MFC, darkmoon decks, etc) don't count for this. Enchanting mats also do not count for this.

Herbs, ore, gems, cloth, etc, don't post more than 50 on a toon / 12 hours.
Also - reposting a lot (didn't sell) over a period of 2 weeks + also can trigger warden to watch your auctions.

(I've got a friend who's a developer for blizzard, he literally wrote the warden.)

Edit :

These numbers increase if you have an active raider on the account.

Ugg. I have been doing this every night with maybe a skip every 4-5 days for almost two months now. I do not even sell the gold. I just use the funds for my characters and friends.

Does this mean I am doomed?

Not doomed, just cut back slowly (over-time). Don't just instantly stop.
Also... see if you can get some Private Buyers so you dont have to AH everything.

Any way we can get a source? Even though HB Devs have covered this area well enough :p
No but seriously, don't ask him.

-Btw there's no way he wrote the warden (by himself). Blizzard wouldn't put this much trust into one person.

Source as in name? No, if he found out that i let that info spill, lets just say i wouldnt be ban-proof anymore...

He didnt write it by himself, but he's one of the developer team leads (of a 36 man team) which wrote the original warden.
(He's now a head developer for dungeons and raids, patch 5.0 is going to be great :D)

Not his name. lul
I meant the code for it. Don't really need it, was intended as a joke.

That's awesome for him :) I used to want to work for Blizzard, then I realized how much of a conflict of interest that would be :p

-Panda, Out.

I always figured posting lots of stacks of mats was a pretty sure fire way to get reported as a bot, I'll post a couple stacks every day but most of the mats I use up with my professions as its a lot less risky that way.

haha, its funny what people talk here, i post around 4000 auctions every day from my account from 6 characters in total and i have never been suspended for this.

You will be. Don't come crying.

I believe you.

I find hard numbers to be laughable as well... I have posted 200+ auctions multiple times a week from my shop toon - manually (TSM and other addons to make it faster - but not using a bot) for over a year and have never been questioned... nor would I expect to be.

It's all about being smart as far as I'm concerned... posting 50+ stacks of anything at once is literally asking for people to report you for botting or 'manipulating the market'. Either convert some of them to other goods vs other professions or at the very least, log on multiple times a day and post smaller amounts as they sell.

Just my 2c worth - feel free to ignore if you don't agree with it.

No, no it wont. Unless all 200 stacks are of Roasted Quail priced at 1000 gold buyout each. Quit being so paranoid ^.^

This is garbage, I've been posting hundreds of auctions a night for years and never got banned because of it.

The only reason I've ever gotten banned is actually selling the gold.

Never once have I had my auction accounts banned, whether through private sellers or just mass posting auctions they do not use it to pinch you. There are far too many potentially legitimate buyers/sellers on the AH to know who is legit and who is not.

you need to be smart and make gear or something... or prospect it and sell the gems

if you post 200 stacks of ore / herbs a day - you'll get banned very quickly

if you post 10 stacks of <cut> gems per day (prospected) - you're a god

- Kick

I respect you saying that Kick, but my experience has just shown otherwise. Everyone has to do what makes them feel safe.
